You’re paying for 50% fat.
The satays are huge yes but the fat content takes up half the satay. I didn’t really notice until one point as I was chewing as I feel nauseated, turns out I wasn’t eating the beef but rather the fat and I ate a whole load of it.
The owner deliberately put half fat to the satays to save more cost on the meat, a crook’s strategy and you can’t really see it since the place is not very well lit plus its charred so often times people won’t notice.
I took a picture of the amount of fat each from a satay placed on the tissue for you all to see and judge for yourselves.
In terms of flavour, it is well marinated and not dry which is a plus point though they could provide better tissues as the ones they provide are super thin that one tissue is equivalent to 10 normal tissue sheet, cheapskate owner.
Waiter also looking so depressed and taking order while not even looking at us when we are ordering is extremely rude. When we’re about to pay, the cashier lady keeps walking away and looked so moody as though she divorced 10 husbands like hello? I’m about to pay, aren’t you supposed to be glad? Do you prefer customers not paying or what. At least have the decency to say thank you.
The mee rebus is nice but as for the satay, it’s definitely not worth the money as there are other better satay joints in Shah Alam other...
Read moreIf you're tired of Satay Haji Samuri then head to Satay Station. There are two sizes of satay, small (according to restaurant it is about the size of pasar malam satay) and regular (think Satay Samuri size). We opted for the regular size. Prices are more expensive than the Samuri ones. Their satay sauce is served together with chili and there is no other option. It's quite tasty, not too spicy but kids may or may not be able to bear the taste. We also had the mee rebus which was pretty tasty. They have nasi lemak and just a few other options other than satay. Overall, good tasting food, decent and relaxed ambiance, and there is option for e-payment which is great (Maybank QR pay and TnG e-wallet if I...
Read moreTheir normal sized satay is bigger and pricier (RM2.40 per piece) than your average satay, but the taste and texture is quite nice. They do have a smaller version though, the 'satay bajet' or 'ekonomi' or whatever they call it, at half the price. The peanut sauce is a bit thick for me although the taste is quite OK (I prefer Haji Samuri's version). Only order more than 5 pieces if you are reaaaally hungry, otherwise you might find yourself too full for other things. Gonna come back again to taste other foods. The nasi lemak from the table behind me just now smells great, but I have no idea what it tastes like. Will try that...
