Aw Chicken Rice — Restaurant in Subang Jaya

Me and my family always come here every weekend for breakfast. The chicken rice tastes good and is consistent.

If you want to try the fried noodles, fried rice and nasi lemak, make sure you come early (before 9.30am latest), else it sells out really quickly - check out the chilli paste if you get their noodles. They also have breakfast sets like half boiled eggs, toasts and coffee. They can steam the bread for you if that's your preference. Very versatile.

Then there are their main items. Chicken rice, with roast chicken, steamed chicken, Kampung chicken, roast pork, char siew and more options. If you get the chance, you may even catch them preparing the char siew. I usually do not order chicken wings outside, but I'm not too worried about it here, coz you can ask the owner to make it easier to eat - and you'll get to see his skills in handling those wings.

What's important to me is the cleanliness of the restaurant. The place is clean and has good ventilation - which is a better environment to bring kids and elderly to. The owner is very friendly, kind and patient, and so are his staff.

Be ready to queue a lil if you come in the afternoon, coz there's a lot of patrons. Parking is easy in the morning. There can be many cars in the afternoon, but people go in and out quickly, so it doesn't take long to get a space. No public transport nearby, do get a Grab if you're not driving. Rm13 char siew rice, pricey and environment very hot not worth with that price, telling lady boss the milo very weird just like 3 in 1, lady boss very unfriendly said everywhere also the same milo deny her milo taste awfully, I ate few Kopitiam everywhere even the apollo n taipan other shop milo, all also taste better than this shop, later she ask people add few powder which the milo aldy cold but no change a new cup, obviously never put condensed milk n taste worst than 3 in 1 and very diluted, and charge at the price of Rm3.50 and super bad till I can't drink it all, wasted Rm3.50. ss19 I can find Rm3 milo with a better taste than this, of coz there are Rm3. 50 and Rm3.80 milo or higher price, all also taste nicer than this shop.. Rm13 char siew rice outside u can find better option with aircon shop, the fan also not windy enough, not worth coming to this shop... Think twice before u come to this shop, the pic is after more powder added, u can see how diluted it and very weird...

On the table is Chicken Wing with Char Siew and Broiled Egg (RM13). Yes, i balked at the price as well. The overall taste is above average, the char siew was really nice and proportionately balanced fat and lean with just enough caramelization. This was the outstanding item, whilst the chicken and egg was slightly above average with what you could find elsewhere. The rice had the right amount of chicken stock and wasn't clumpy.

Overall this was somewhat a surprise find but loses in terms of value. I would be absolutely fine paying 9-10 but certainly not 13 for what I ordered. Aw Chicken Rice is located at the same row as New Apollo and Chuan Kee at USJ. Parking during peak hours is a nightmare.
