I went on to have dinner on 10 of January 2021 with my family, there were 8 of us. We love the food and the ambience of the restaurant. It was really tasty and scrumptious .However, there are 3 things that I would like to bring the restaurant's attention which became a rather unpleasant experience on that day.
1.We ordered the Moroccan Lamb pizza to share amongst us so I requested some small plates from the waiter. A Bangladeshi man attended us but because I thought I had asked for too many plates I called him back to tell that we only need a few small plates. I informed him and also to a lady waitress who was serving us food at that time, somehow this makes the Bangladeshi waiter irritated and he raised his voice to me. All of us were taken aback by his action. That was the 1st thing that put me off with dinner that night.
2.My daughter wanted the BBQ mac & cheese so we ordered that for her. When the order came, the mac & cheese was served in a small metal pan which was scalding hot. In my opinion, the waitress should've caution us that the pan was hot(children won't be aware of this) and when my daughter wanted to bring the food closer to her, she burnt her thumb and forefingers until blisters formed. However, one of your other waitress was aware that my daughter discomfort so she brought some ice over. I thank her for that. My daughter was in pain so we had to finish our dinner fast and get home to get her burn treated.
3.During the time when we were eating, a street peddler came in to sell some food which we declined as she wasn't wearing mask & neither was her children. She was unmasked and stood very close to our table. I sympathize the peddler's situation but if your restaurant let them in, could you possibly tell them to follow SOP. This is a time of pandemic & there are SOP we have to adhere.
I hope that you would look into my comments and find a way to improve. To be honest, I like your food and place but you could do...
Read moreFirst of all: I urge you not to hesitate in deciding to come try Bayou Diner.
I was introduced to this restaurant by a friend who has been a long-time fan of it, and now I can earnestly claim that this has become one of my favourite restaurants in Greater KL.
Bayou Diner offers Western food, and prominently features a grill serving steaks and chops. Other menu items include Western-style staples such as burgers, pasta, pizza, and small plates.
My personal favourites (which I strongly recommend you try) are the potato gratin, the beef nachos, and the chicken-peach pizza.
Firstly, the potato gratin is a wonderful side dish comprised of thin layers of potato, baked to tender perfection. If given the option to choose a side for your main dish, do give it a shot.
Secondly, the nachos are coated with generous portions of well-seasoned minced beef, cheese, onions, and more. I believe the secret is in the way the nacho chips are deep-fried; this makes it so that the chips stay so crunchy despite being covered with sauce!
Thirdly is the chicken-peach pizza, which easily puts the likes of Mikey's, Domino's and Pizza Hut to shame. The thin-crust pizza has a delicious smoky flavour thanks to a mix of marinara sauce and BBQ sauce (I only know because I watched it get made through the glass windows of the kitchen!). The peach gives the pizza a sweetness which is like pineapple on pizza but better in every way.
If all of the above is not enough to convince you, the food is also affordable and worth every cent. Lamb chops are about RM16, and a pizza is as low as RM12!
TL/DR: Eat here, the food is...

1)some dishes are too hot for kids but not marked in menu, or not adviced properly by server.
3)the morrocan lamb pizza is good, but too hot 🔥🔥🔥and not adviced beforehand. Not for kids. Portion is for 2.
4)Tried jambalaya for a new palate. Disappointed. Tasted like a retort food.
Verdict - For the establishment of this category n price bracket for Malaysia, it falls to 3 from 5 stars. Avoid if you're hungry. Or at least until they...
