Went for dinner with my family to Canai Cafe 15 in SS14 and it turned into a deeply terrible experience, made even worse by the incredibly rude behavior of the owner. From the moment the waiter approached our table, it was clear we were an unwelcome inconvenience. His reluctance to take our order was palpable, followed by a dismissive attitude that immediately set a negative tone for our meal.
Unfortunately, the service only deteriorated from there. When our food finally arrived – a staggering 40-minute wait for a simple chapathi – it became apparent that our order had been mishandled. Upon politely pointing out the discrepancies, we were met not with apologies or attempts to rectify the situation, but with unprofessional and frankly shocking tantrums from the waiting staff.
My request for chutney was met with a 15-minute delay, only to be dismissively informed by the owner, engrossed in her phone, that it was finished and a new batch was "on the way" – information that should have been communicated much earlier. Her dismissive and frankly rude demeanor towards customers was frustrating.
Utterly frustrated by the abysmal service and cheap attitude displayed by both staff and owner. We will not be returning and strongly advise others to consider alternative dining options. The complete lack of basic customer service ethics, from the staff to the owner, is...
Read moreNo doubt, this restaurant is known for its tasty lunch dishes. It used to be one of my go-to places for lunch with my colleagues. My recent visit was rather frustrating as I was overcharged for the same items I had taken with one of my colleagues and of course out of curiosity I had to check with them on how the dishes were billed. So this guy who gave my bill was not the same guy who had given the bill to my colleague, so I was puzzled on multiple factors as to why and what makes it have such a vast difference, came the lady boss to justify the quantity but here is the best part, she told both the waiters simultaneously that they had taken the same items why never charge equally = HIGHER AMOUNT of course and insisted him to make the changes to my colleague's bill. Best part the waiter who quoted the price gave a better justification that it was suppose to be the lower amount he charged my colleague ,so the other waiter who had charged me was supposed to make the changes and not him .The lady boss just stared at him and said ,follow what I have to say and don't do things as you...
Read moreBad experience. Today i was there with a friend who was extremely hungry and ordered vegetarian meehoon goreng. Usually the meehoon goreng here is excellent but today it was plain, salty and the meehoon was not even stirred and fried properly. Came in a big rubbery mess and we couldn't eat it at all. We asked to replace it with a capathi instead but the order wasn't placed by the waiter who took the meehoon away. My friend was so upset from anger that he ended up not eating at all because such a simple order and reorder couldn't be fulfilled.
The waiter didn't even apologize or prioritize replacing the meal - and we're regular customers! At least 3 to 4 times a week we go there. If the owner had been there I would have complained. This incident caused my friend and I to get into a big argument as well as he was very agitated from the incident.
The owner has to do something about orders being missed out, taking very long to arrive and inconsistent preparations. If you're going to charge such a high tax for the bill then these things shouldn't...
