Had a great time at this cafe. Got to take note, the cafe is limited in table & seats. The service is good as the waitress able to manage the queue effectively, they take note of who came first, so this itself deserves a star as it’s not easy task.
The coffee is good, beans are fresh. But the two biggest star to me is the pancake and ice cream. The pancake is made upon order, so it’s fresh and hot! The ice cream on the other hand is very nice. I ordered two pancakes (same pancakes) and one additional scope of ice cream, that tells how nice it is.
Food choice: 7.5/10 (not too many) Food taste: 9.5/10 (pancake and ice cream) Cleanliness: 8.5/10 Environment: 8/10 (spacious but really limited table and chairs, it’ll be an issue when ppl just order a cup of drink and decided to scroll social media for hours, come on la, when it’s crowded, be more considerate, if you finished your food or drink, get your butt out and let others to enjoy the food and drinks. If you love the cafe and want to enjoy the food again, don’t do things like this that make them lose business). Service: 9/10 Toilet cleanliness: 7.8/10 (clean for high number visitors) Parking: 5/10 (very limited even on a weekend or holiday)
Recommended and will definitely come eat the pancakes again!
Suggestion: please consider 5 more varieties of ice cream (Belgium chocolate with chips, chocolate peanut, vanilla nuts, vanilla chocolate chips,...

The pancakes here are a standout—freshly made to perfection, fluffy, and paired with a rich and flavorful gula melaka syrup. The homemade pudding is equally delightful, creamy and smooth, offering a comforting sweetness in every bite. Their freshly brewed coffee is the icing on the cake, providing a robust and aromatic complement to their desserts.
One highlight was the freshly made pancake, served warm with butter and gula melaka syrup. The combination was divine, taking me back to my days in Australia when café culture was a treasured experience. Every bite here feels crafted with care, and the flavors linger in the best way.

Read moreI took an instant liking to Shikomi as soon as I arrived at its doorstep. I felt like coming to a timber cafe instead of concrete one because the entrance (as well as indoor) was adorned with solid woods.
Wood elements also dominated the interior - panels, counters, tables, chairs - it looked like a traditional Japanese inspired cafe with rustic vibes to it.
Part of the cafe is built with a loft where one can enjoy more private dining upstairs, that is, if someone is not sitting in it - I was not so lucky so had to come contended sitting downstairs.
◾Classic pancake was cooked until golden brown on top and drizzled with gula melaka syrup & maple syrup before topped with a slab of unsalted butter. (Almost) perfect round shaped pancake that was thick yet light & fluffy - a classic case of expectation matched with reality. ◾As usual I had my dosage of black coffee which was fruity and light on the palate.
The cafe is cosy and warmth with friendly staffs to attend to you. Located within minutes of walk from SS18 LRT station, and at the quieter area of Subang Jaya.. Shikomi is worth...
