It’s been 4 years since I gave a review for this place and I thought of “why not update since it’s been so long”. And I did.
4 years since I reviewed this place and much have changed. The atmosphere for one is much improved, looks a lot more classy than before as reflective of the kind of restaurant it is, a classy and delicious Malay restaurant that serve above average quality food with above average price.
Speaking about price, it has increased way more than I anticipated! A classic Nasi Lemak Ayam Berempah is already above RM20, and it’s not close to Village Park Nasi Lemak. But even though there have been a couple changes for better or for worse, what doesn’t change is how great and delicious their food is. Their Nasi Briyanj is still one of the best in Subang, and they still have one of the best Mee Bandung! Even my relatives from Muar were commending it to be better than its original recipe from Muar. But the price has also increased together with service charge & sst, one Mee Bandung cost RM20! 🥵
Would I come regularly to pay this restaurant a visit? Certainly not, especially with that pricing. Once awhile still fine, to satisfy my desire of having a good Nasi Briyanj. But will definitely still recommend friends & family to this place & give a try...
Read moreThe Briyani Gam here is a hearty meal that will leave you sated for the rest of the day. There are generally 3 types of meat - chicken, beef and mutton. However, only the Chicken Briyani Gam meal is served with the proper portion of meat. For the mutton and beef, the restaurant skimps on the meat portions.
The restaurant is air-conditioned and is very clean. Parking is ample and is also very near to an LRT station. The staff is polite and helpful as well.
The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is that the normal Briyani rice (non Gam version) is very bland and not even worth ordering. In addition, the protein portions for the beef and mutton are too small to be worth it.
In my opinion, JM Bariani should focus 100% on their Briyani Gam and not waste their time and effort selling normal Briyani rice. This is backed by the fact that they always run out of Briyani Gam rice within 1-2 hours after...
Read moreI have been coming to j m bariani from the beginning of j m bariani (from original owner time). I can 100% very confidentially say that j m bariani is the best or No. 1 in Malaysia. Why I say so is because I am a briyani kaki. I have tried all briyani that I have come across in my life (even some in foreign countries) & there's nothing as good as j m briyani. I can guarantee this to any one. I have brought many of my local friends & foreign friends & even those from Arab countries & they said it's excellent. My only complaint is to reduce as much as possible oil content in the chicken when it's served. Even the new foreign staff are excellent. They are very well mannered with excellent customer service. I'm from subang jaya close to your subang jaya ss 18 restaurant. I love j m bariani. Evey week minimum one time I'll take j m briyani. (why - you know). Long live j m...
