Firstly I would like to address the fact that I usually do not leave reviews, with this being the only exception at the moment.
To summarize my entire dinning experience. The service was atrocious, would highly not recommend especially when you're dinning with your family.
My family and I went to have dinner, initially we thought about having dinner somewhere else but we decided to give the place a try which was a horrible mistake. We were there for an hour and a half minimum and I can confidently say the service is atrocious. So we were seated to a kitchen situation area I would say, the cooking fumes and smoke got more pungent as we were talking to our table which is quite normal for some places as they have open style kitchens. So everyone got their food and I was the only one who didn't. We asked 3 waiters/servers in total for the food I ordered, and 2 of them said similar things which was "sorry, there's quite a lot of people". At least 15 minutes have passed, we asked again (the 3rd waiter/server) who replied "I'll go check", he came back saying "your food will be out around 10 minutes".
So we continued waiting, then we decided to go directly to the front to ask about the food. The cook threw away the order list so they had to reprint it out and prepare the food.
10 minutes passed, a waiter/server brought the food out in a to go box, all packed which we did not tell them to pack the food to go. Anyways, we went to ask for our remaining food which was not delivered together, and they had the audacity to say they have served it which ended up being a refund and we just left with the to go box. Honestly, that killed our moods and...
Read moreWent there during Christmas’ Eve was hoping for a simple sg after dinner drinks with my family after a long Covid quarantine. When we first arrived, we were told to find our own table all the at the back which is understandable since it was Christmas eve. After settling ourselves in, the staff were not helpful as we asked for recommendations and prices. Clearly untrained and unprofessional, the 5 staff did not bother with us. We ended up randomly selecting a range of beers, upon opening the beer can and pouring it to our glass, we noticed all of our beers being flat. We checked the labels and it turned out some of products were past their best before date for 11 months. We immediately called to the staff’s attention and the staff tried to convince us that it was the “Manufacturing Date” instead of “Best Before”.
One of the cans have a best before date of 22nd December 2022 and if this is the actual manufacturing date, I am amazed that the could put it on the shelf within 3 days. Mind you that there are no craft beers manufacturing companies in Malaysia. All of these comments were coming from the tall Chinese staff.
So to back it up, it is true what the previous reviewers said about this particular staff. He is incredibly rude and based on what we have observed, he is only nice to the pretty lady customers.
To wrap up our experience, yes we did get our replacement beer, but not without this particular staff who gave us a snarky comment telling us to check the best before date from...
Read moreA great range of craft beers--bottled, canned or draught. Good service from the staff in introducing the beers, serving the beers and accomodating to customers' needs (we were hungry, kitchen was about to close, they allowed us to sneak in some food).
Bottled and canned variety had all sorts of interesting flavours but if you like your beer smoother and lighter, I think the draught is a better choice.
What I loved best about the place was the environment (the design and usage of a previously vacant outdoor area of Subang Parade) and the amazing live singer they had there for Deepavali Eve. Her voice was incredible and song choices were great especially the alt rock sessions (I think her name is Qierra if I'm not wrong).
Food wise, the yakitori was not bad. I liked the tomatoes with cheese, quail's eggs, squid, shisamo and saba. Some of the other varieties were a hit and miss (sweet potatoes are definitely quite dry and hard). But no mains served so grab a bite before you arrive.
Although overall for a beer bar, it's relatively pricey but for its ambiance and set up, it is worth it in my opinion (considering a regular draught is RM25 vs a cocktail at any other speakeasy bar can be easily RM30-50).
My complaint would be for Subang Parade to fix the direct entrance from LG to the bar. It's pretty difficult to find the bar without it. And also for Farmer's Bar to install a few more fans along the edge because the ventilation isn't that great at...
