I read some of the negative reviews and somehow I disagree with them. If you judge food only by price then you are unfortunately missing the point.
The food is prepared with ultimate care and precision, and is clearly crafted by kitchen staff with a very deep understanding of food science. I’d go as far as saying they are genius level in their skill and recipe. There are clearly many unique combinations of ingredients in the food which are easy to imbalance without being mindful however Haus 7 have executed on them perfectly. The ingredients are also very high quality. This is not just limited to the food, but also reflected in the drinks.
This is also testament to the serving staff, you can see the pride in their work, their etiquette, friendliness and professionalism. The vibe is also great and it all works very well together.
There aren’t many places I’ve visited in my lifetime that I’m this impressed with, maybe my experience here is unique but I feel that this wasn’t by chance.
Very well done to everyone at Haus 7, great work and I’m sure it won’t be long until you’re recognised as a local treasure, if...
Read moreA solid 4.5⭐. It is amazing that a cafe in the middle of an 'urban' kampung has thrived for a few years. It is a long way out but I am glad I made the journey here.
The attention to details by the owner and chef makes the food almost perfect. Take the grilled chicken chop for example - all the components, perfect in its own right, combine to give one of the best chicken shops in town. The black pepper sauce had great umami, the chicken grilled to perfection (juicy), fries crispy and crunchy and light coleslaw. The hainanese chicken chop was equally faultless - the chicken was lightly breaded and crunchy. The dulang rice was a delight - beautiful on the eyes and tasty. The humble fried rice with petai was excellent. We also tried a bagel which was good.
The desserts were no slouch either. The burnt cheesecake was delicious (wished the serving was bigger though). As was the scones.
Service on a weekday lunch was good. Price was RM40 per head but we had...
Read moreType: Cafe. Cakes Ambience: Homely. Casual. Open My hot latte was fantastic. Love the lychee rose crepe; good level of sweet and fragrance. Durian crepe was real durian smell and taste, which is good for durian lovers, but not so much for those who don’t.
There’s no booking so my friends and I waited for a long time, and it’s only 4 of us. Easier to get tables for 2 pax group.
We ordered anyway and by the time the main food arrives; we’ve got our table. We got a cosy high table. My grilled chicken and coleslaw was so so. But I’d go back for the crepes, cakes and coffee.
If the Nasi Goreng Petai or Lamb Chop are back on the Menu; then I think I’ll order mains again. Oh, they’re renovating the next door space, so maybe the queue and waiting time will get better.
I’d like to recommend to the owner to pls have candles and lighters ready - if there’s cakes, there’s gonna...
