A sheer mountainous plate of LFC + veggies + fried egg + rice accompanied with a good splash of watery curry and sweet sambal - all for RM 12 - that's in my view reminiscent of the Hainanese scissors-cut plate of meat, veggies and gooey curry over rice that's popular in Singapore (剪刀剪). You must be truly hungry to finish it.
Star of the show was of course the deep-fried chicken leg that LFC is well-known for - as far as I have read from the reviews. Yes, the piece of deep-fried chicken leg (drumstick and thigh without that rib-join part) was by no means small. Yes, the savoury floured coating was somewhat crispy. Yes, the chicken was near-succulent on the inside - although mine was more well-done compared to my other half's. His oozed chicken juices when he cut through his piece of deep-fried chicken. Mine was comparatively flat. Yet, on it's own without the sweet NS tangy sambal, the deep-fried chicken was simply just another average-tasting, standard-fare piece of fried chicken done right, and served moments after it had left the fryer.
Nothing extraordinary about the sweet, sambal, veggie, watery curry and fried egg - although necessary. The sambal was sweet and tangy to help cut the greasy alkaline-tasting crispy coat of the deep-fried chicken, and the curry plays its part to give the overall dish a moistened glean for the palate.
Value for money at RM 12, perhaps. Otherwise, I was nowhere near as wowed by my colleagues' raving fanfare of LFC. You and I, I reckon, would be better-off spending our RM 12 at some other popular Nasi...

Not even kidding, the crispiness that you’d be hearing crunching as you bite it in your mouth kind of makes it satisfying, despite I’m not an apex predator myself.
But be warned that the sambal is— it can be hell if you aren’t too careful.
Do I recommend the sambal for anyone that doesn’t take spicy foods at all? You don’t have to avoid the place. Best bet, you may request that they put the sambal on a different plate or while you’re taking away, request that they have the sambal separated from the dish itself. I was once asked this question, but I had the waitress repeat her question several times because I’m too busy listening to what’s on my earpiece (so sorry for the awkwardness at the time)
They even have Chee Cheong Fun as replacement for rice so if you aren’t too keen for rice, but is alright with the noodlish~dish, there’s an option for that too.
An average price at about RM17+ per person, depending on what...
Read moreIn a return visit to the outlet after a long while, we ordered individual set meals that included drinks, with add-ons of curry lamb, long beans, and cabbage for sharing. We used to buy for takeaway the LFC Golden Drumostick / Thigh Bucket (5 pieces), but no longer due to the constraints imposed that the combination should be confined to three thighs and two drumsticks, instead of free combination previously. Although the fried chicken was tasty and delicious, they were a tad dry, for those chicken already precooked. The mutton was also not so tender this time, but the long beans and cabbage were just nice. The bill came to RM95.70 for the...
