Murni Discovery USJ 9 — Restaurant in Subang Jaya

It was almost 10.00 pm when we arrived at Murni Discovery Subang Jaya. I was surprise that the place is packed to the brim, inside and outside the restaurant. I managed to get a table near the drinks counter but as we were about to order, we moved to a better table away from the busy drinks counter. Orders are taken at the table and the drinks came right after. It was super swift. We did not wait long for the food, either. I ordered the Lamb Chops. There were two pieces with black pepper sauce and some fries, crackers and coleslaw on the side. I love the fats on the Lamb chop. Crispy on the outside and soft and creamy on the inside. The flesh is tender and full of flavour. I could it eat on its own without dipping it in the sauce. Surprisingly, the thin fries is really good without the usual taste of coating on it. However, the coleslaw was a bit too mushy and sweet for me, so I left that aside. Other than that, the food was just fantastic. My Killer Pass drink is a combination of Coco jelly, Asam Boi, lemon grass and mint leaves in sweet soda water. Odd as it is, it quenches thirst and taste great. My son had the killer portion of Spaghetti Meatball with Chicken Maryland, and the Lavender Special drinks. Murni Discovery serves really big portion, and should be shared, unless you are really hungry. Food taste great and the drinks, even better. All these cost me RM50.60 which I think is a real bargain for such big portion of both...

We ended up getting a refund, but it doesn’t change the fact that this was an awful experience.

First, the portion size was shocking for the price (RM23). When the food arrived, it wasn’t even fully cooked. I asked the server to replace it with a fresh one, but they flat-out refused. Instead, they took the same plate, re-fried the “fish,” and served it back to me – on the same plate, without replacing the cutlery.

The staff didn’t even bother to apologize or offer any sort of professionalism. Instead, they grabbed my plate rudely and kept discussing the situation loudly among themselves, right in front of the dining area, as if it was my fault their kitchen couldn’t cook properly.

I’ve worked in F&B before, so I know what good service looks like, and this was far from it. The food was terrible, the service was worse, and hygiene standards are clearly nonexistent. This place is not worth the time or money – I won’t be coming here ever again.

Anyways, 2 stars cause the manager agreed to refund the food...

Went here as adhoc option to dine-in, as the shop that we wanted to go was closed earlier than its operating hours.

As usual, Murni is always crowded with diners and we were lucky as during our visit (before 7pm), we managed to secure a seat.

Similar like other outlets, the waiters collected orders using their apps. Ordered Mee Raja + was a bit disappointed with my choice. It should be called MAGGIE RAJA, not mee. Thanks to Chicken Chop, our dinner adalah rasa sikit. Likewise, it tasted bland and my son didn't like it.

As for drink, I ordered warm water but the waiter gave cold water. Not a big deal but it was a big disappointment when Murni served me with a RO water bottle. I was expecting for an established shop to serve a mineral water, not RO water.

Not sure will come here again as we all know, Murni's food are quite expensive. The drinks mungkinlah berbaloi to buy.

Stayed here till 8pm as we were waiting for ShopeeFood and we could see so many GrabFood drivers outside the shop, delivering...
