I’m quite disappointed with this outlet. I've been coming here for nearly 20 years, but lately, the quality has gone downhill, especially with how they prepare poached eggs. Since sometime after the pandemic, they’ve switched to using a machine to cook the eggs (perhaps due to hiring more foreign workers?). Because I usually take my order to go, by the time I get home, the egg ends up more like a boiled egg, making the pan mee inedible. I’ve thrown out my meal several times but kept complaining, always specifically asking for the "old-style" poached egg.
Unfortunately, the same thing happened today. When I ordered, I asked for the non-machine, old-style poached egg. The person taking my order, a young Chinese guy, seemed to understand my request. However, when I checked the egg after my order was ready, the white part was cooked, but the yolk was still wobbly - he seemed to be seemed ok with that standard, but I was not. By the time I got home, the yolk was almost fully cooked, and the white was completely done. As a result, the noodles were really dry. To make things worse, I usually ask for fuchok instead of pork, but the fuchok today was stale. I think I’ve lost interest in eating here now.
Point being, it is ok to have your prices skyrocketed being charged RM0.70 for a paper container, but if you stop listening to your customer, then the customer will have to turn away. My fav chilli pan mee is at Damen food court now - even with foreign workers, they appear...
Read moreIt seems that there are many chili Panmee shop around this area, hopefully I didn’t review on the wrong one. I really love the panmee served in this shop. Truly by far the best Panmee I have ever eaten. The dried chili panmee is superb, I love the chili they serve. I would say nowhere else can serve as tasty, fragrant and spicy chili as them. And their mala panmee totally surprised me. This is the kind of mala panmee I have been looking for! I don’t like other places kind of mala panmee, they all tasted the same, seems that they all use the same kind of “flavouring” to cook. The mala panmee here is really using the “authentic” flavour to cook. It tastes like the mala soup you eat at the authentic china restaurant. The taste is bland a bit (just a bit), but it’s overall good. The boss, Ken, is also very nice. He ensures you are served well. Always make me feel like worth the visit after travelling so far 😋😋😋
Oh before I forget, their wantan soup is also good. The filling is fresh. I also hesitated to order this outside because I cannot stand the not-so-fresh taste. But this shop really...
Read moreIt was 8 May. MCO is in place. The restaurant only took online orders or take aways. My children especially like the chilli pan mee here. The noodles are always firm (al dente) like well made pasta. Even as we made a take away order, having it at home didn't feel like it had a packed taste to it. The pan mee was delicious. The shrimp sambal / chilli was very good. The eggs that went with it were nicely soft-boiled / poached. Maybe the only thing I didn't quite like (though my children and wife loved it) was the ikan bilis. I thought it was a little overdone (but that's my opinion). I ordered the curry pan mee. YUMMY 😋. Delicious thick curry laksa sauce. Came even with some clams / lala. Very nice.
The restaurant, since it was MCO time, kept the SOPs well. Even the waiting area seats were 4 feet apart. Friendly service by the gentleman who...
