First the good. Cheap. Nicely decorated. Trendy, funky and I suppose a bit 'cool', though I'm a bit old for that.||Problem is, too cheap. Rooms not serviced. No shower gel in the dispenser and no loo roll. After the first night and return for second, still no shower gel or loo roll.||Breakfast is hopeless. Toast and jam, with some Nasi Goreng which had been ordered the night before and then left to get to room temperature with attendant health risks. They'd be better not bothering with breakfast. Seriously, there are places a short walk away which do it properly. We also weren't asked about breakfast for the second day.||Hotel is hopelessly understaffed. We were checked in and 'looked after' by the same guy for the first 36 hours before someone else took over. Can't be healthy. He spoke very little English as well, which I realise should not be an automatic expectation but even so. Not an issue with our visit as I was with a native Malaysian. ||And the noise...... OK, its in a bustling area, but that's no excuse for crashing and banging and noisy fresh water drains. And in the 2 nights we were here, there were 2 alarms going off in nearby premises, which made sleep impossible, even with earplugs. Actually impossible. Staff response? Oh yes, that's been happening for a while and we're trying to get something done about it. One alarm (the worst) was the local Tesco Express. Their staff not interested at 2315 as they wanted to go home. But this alarm was incessant and when I checked the following day, they (Tesco) told me it had been happening for a month. On for 5 minutes and then off for 5-30 seconds and then on again. Until 0700! Really?!!? And then the local bank alarm joined in. We EVENTUALLY got another room to sleep for about 5 hours before we got away, but the lack of effective action by staff and/or local Police beggars belief. Who ignores an alarm going off at a bank for goodness sake. And where are the key holders? ||Won't be staying here again and cannot in all honesty recommend it to anyone. Very...
Read moreWe thought the room was incredible with the price we paid. In fact, I got my favourite room – The Beatles. My mother and I stayed in a Deluxe Queen room, situated on the ground floor of the building. The room is located at the back side of the hotel, hence we had a peaceful quiet night. We were provided with two sleeping pillows each. Extra pillows were available in the room as well. The queen size bed was comfortable to sleep on though the pillow was rather high to my liking. Room amenities included two complimentary bottled water, bedside lamp, TV with 8 local and international channels, writing desk and chair, coffee/tea making facilities (electrical kettle), wardrobe, full-length mirror, room safety box and telephone. The bathrobes and slippers are provided to our surprise. ||||The view from the room is facing to the back lane of another row of shop lots. The hotel is strategically located in Taipan USJ - a commercial area with various food options and other facilities/services provided. The free wifi service with password is provided. However, we did not ask for the password. Therefore, we are not able to comment about its connection. The air-conditioned room is suitable for two adults.||||The ensuite modern bathroom comes with a hot/cold standing rain shower, toilet, mirror, body towel, hand towel, and floor mat. Toiletries such as comb, shampoo, shower gel, tooth brush and tooth paste, and toilet paper are provided. Hair dryer can be found in the bathroom. The female receptionist was polite and friendly during our stay. There is one lift in the hotel. We were asked for RM100 room deposit. They returned the deposit on the day we...
Read moreThere were so many problems with my 5-night stay I don't know where to begin. They are best summarised by 2 main points-||||1) Poor cleanliness of the general areas, but especially of the bedroom. There were stains on all the pillow cases and duvet cover, all of which did not looked or smelled like they were freshly laundered. There were long strands of hair on the bed and under the duvet (I have very short hair, hence not mine). All of the above makes me suspect they don't change the sheets between guests. My room was only refreshed once, on the third day. In-room safe was broken which meant I had to haul all my valuables out with me everyday.||||2) The staff were apathetic and could not care less. 4 of the 5 nights, there was loud noise into the early hours of the morning (combination of someone watching videos/listening to music and people talking loudly) from the reception area and rooftop which reverberates through the 2 internal lightwell, which in turn reverberates through most of the rooms. I had to yell at them to keep it down on 2 nights (which did not really help!). The worst part is, the culprits were probably staff members hanging out with...
