This is the last straw. Went there multiple times tried to give them a few chances to improve. But I got very dissapointed when I went there today to have my lunch.
The first time I went there, they said can pay by only using cash, in the mist of covid season where most business use cashless. The guy on the counter was very rude and does not respect the customers at times. If its a good-looking female customer, they will change their attitude entirely. Otherwise, the guy at the counter won't even notice you at the counter when you come in and wanted to order. I ask questions about the menu and he told me to just read the menu and order. No further guidance or any efforts to try and sell me anything.
Besides that, sometimes the order didn't match with the price. I ordered ala carte (without water) but they still charge me for a set meal with water. I tried to confront them but they gave me excuses like its hard to make the change because they already key in the order. Even if its only like RM 2-3 difference but still, you are taking my money. They need to do something about this problem. They need to change the guy at the counter's attitude and make payments more flexible than using cash only method. We came to support your business, but this is the kind of nonsense treatment that we get?
Only good thing about it is the food. Sometimes its okay and sometimes its very bad. Would not...
Read moreLet's talk about the the sambal first. This place is more of more spicy lover. The spicy sambal is top notch if you someone enjoy the heat. I went for "Pedas" which level 3. Would like to try level some other days. You can request for extra sambal if you want. FOC. As for drinks, they do provide drinks which is quite limited choices. But still alright.
While about the chicken, the waiting time was short , so I assume all the fried chickens ready made and not freshly fried upon order. I understand they would take longer time if they wants to fry it upon order but it would be great if they are able to keep it warm like how KFC/MCD keeps the chicken in warmer oven. Not very hot, but at least in a warm state. The chicken size could be bigger too for the price. It is kind of small to medium size.
The environment: The drawback here now is the hand washing sink. It is placed behind the restaurant and right in front of the toilets which is very unpleasant to go before having your meal. It would be great they can consider this. The toilet need to be clean thou. Air-cond can be better too as it was not very cold. With that kind of spicy food, lower temperature environment could help with sweating
Overall, it is a good food but requires some improvement on the restaurant...
Read moreIf you're missing the taste of true Indonesian ayam gepuk, this place is as close as it gets!. If you don't find yourself loving it, maybe ayam gepuk just isn't your thing.
Speaking of spice, the sambal packs a punch, but the "extra spicy" option could definitely use some extra fire. As for the drinks, well, they're alright. Not bad, not amazing, just kinda there.
Now, here's the thing: the ayam comes out super quick, which is great if you're on a time crunch. But it also means it might not be freshly fried every time. Think of it as a trade-off – speed for freshness.
Onto the not-so-good stuff: the cleanliness of the bathrooms could definitely be improved. A little TLC for the sink and toilet would go a long way. The staff could also be a bit friendlier – a warm welcome and a smile can make all the difference. And lastly, the air conditioning… let's just say it needs a boost. Dining there can get pretty hot.
Overall, this place is a solid choice for authentic ayam gepuk, but be prepared for a few quirks. Just come with a little patience, some tissues for the spice (and maybe the heat!), and you'll leave with a taste of Indonesia in your belly. But hey, if the friendly smiles and sparkling bathrooms are your top priority, you might want to...
