The food was OK but it was not as good as other PuTien that I have visited. Particularly the ćžçžé»è±é±ŒïŒwe can tell that the fish was not fresh. But the real turn-off is the service.
I reckon that the restaurant must have hired many students awaiting their exam results. They are clearly not being trained well before coming to the field and worse, many of them lack logics...what disappoint us even more is that the lady wearing a suit (I supposed the manager?), by the name Ivy, is not any more professional either.
First the young and innocent student waiters. Our table was uneven so we got waiter A to help us. It took him quite a while yet the table becomes even more unbalance. We told him how to make it better in the end. 2. Then comes waiter B, who offered to serve the fish soup we offered in small bowls, to which we said OK. He then took the pot to the side and distribute soups into 4 bowls - two of them were full of bones, being served to the two elderly in our group, while the other two were full of fleshes for the two young people in the group. That is not all, when we were sipping our soup, waiter B continue to distribute the soups to yet another 4 bowls and was both to serve to us. Ivy saw it and stopped him from doing so. She instructed waiter B to pour everything back to the pot (because we have not finished our first helping). Suddenly this become less annoying for us because something that happened earlier and later irk us even more. Because we wanted to order a small fish soup right at the outset but Ivy told us that the small fish soup is only enough to serve two people, with one to two bowls. She convinced us to take the middle size. We end up have EIGHT small bowls of soup. I suspect there were more because when I requested to distribute the soup ourselves for the second helping, Ivy said no. She said it is their job. But as I walked out of the restaurant I saw many other tables who have the whole pot in front of them. The fried fish we ordered, was not fresh and arrived after we finished all other dishes and rice.
I will never return to this PuTien ever again. And I think it has tarnish the Michelin...

Read moreBright and clean place. Suitable to dine in if you have a big family. Waiters quite professional especially for the lou sang in conjunction with the CNY celebration.
Needs about 15-20 minutes for dishes to be served. We had the signature Fijian fried oysters, quite a decent amount of oysters. Crisp and goes really well with their homemade chili dipping sauce. Braised tofu with minced meat was good but we didnât see much meat, mostly gravy. But definitely a rice stealer dish. Overall dishes were good but itâs definitely overpriced.
Portions were really small. Itâs a let down for the appetizer on the braised intestines. 8 tiny slices (about 1 inch) for rm 28. Just look at the picture , bear in mind this is the actual portion. We had not eaten any yet. The oyster dish costs rm 30 while the tofu costs rm 28.
If you are looking for a budget friendly restaurant, I wouldnât recommend here. The taste is there, however for the price paid, I would get a much bigger portion for the same price at another well established restaurant too....
