Ramen Seirock-ya at IOI Mall Puchong is a hidden gem for authentic Japanese ramen lovers. The moment you step in, you’re welcomed by a cosy, minimalist interior with warm lighting that gives off a genuine Japanese vibe. Their signature Toripaitan ramen is rich, creamy, and full of flavour, made from chicken broth that’s been simmered for hours. The noodles have just the right amount of chewiness, and the portion is generous. I tried the Shoyu Toripaitan, and the broth was umami-packed with a deep, satisfying taste. The ajitama (flavoured egg) was perfectly soft-boiled with a creamy yolk centre. The chicken chashu was tender and well-marinated, practically melting in my mouth. You can customise the saltiness and oiliness of your soup, which is a nice touch. Service is friendly and efficient, and the staff are attentive despite the lunch crowd. Prices are reasonable for the quality, ranging between RM20 to RM30 per bowl. For sides, the gyoza was crispy outside and juicy inside, a great complement to the ramen. Overall, Ramen Seirock-ya delivers a fulfilling and satisfying ramen experience that’s worth the visit. If you’re craving authentic Japanese flavours without leaving Malaysia, this spot should be...
Read moreVery pleasant surprise with this halal ramen shop. I had my doubts on a halal ramen shop and how the broth could poosibly live up to the more commonly used pork broth. What is ramen without a good soup broth, right? And how can chicken broth, which is milder in comparison to pork, fare? Well, given the benefit of doubt, I tried it and the verdict is I love it! Its not as rich and flavourful as pork broth but it has its own homey unique chicken soup broth, u know, like the ones you crave during a cold heavy downpour or when you're not in the mood and all you want is just good o chicken soup? Honey, this is your answer. Where homey chicken soup meets ramen. The ramen portion is just nice and ramen is well cooked, not starchy. The chicken meat is really delicious. Not as fatty as pork, so you don't have the oily aftertaste. Opt for the original flavour as spicy is a lil overboard spicy for me (same goes for spicy gyoza). The spicy level is the China chili oil spicy. So, if you're not a fan, I suggest to pass.
I must take my hats off to you Seirock-ya, you crushed my doubts and I will be back to try your other flavours.
Btw, affordable prices averaging RM...
Read moreThe flavours of the soup is very evidently chicken. However, it is also very evident that a lot of the flavour is contributed by those soup powders sort of things. As such, I find the flavours to feel "cheap" because it tastes too much like an instant noodle.
The texture/mouth-feel of the soup is rich and thick, like ramens which are typically made of pork. I would speculate that it is also artificially enhanced by external ingredients rather than using just chicken bones and meats. If it is, for the sake of those who can't eat pork or beef products, I hope it is indeed not from those sources.
The soup comes with the option of standard or less salt. Personally, the standard is on the saltier side to my partner and myself.
By the way, the 2 pictures included are of 2 different ramen types but somehow, the look and taste identical. Their names escape me but i think one is the fancier "special" and the other might have been a "tokyo" style...
