The actual wan tan noodles are well cooked, well seasoned, and quite yummy. But the accompanying duck meat was not even fit for dogs. The duck was terribly cooked. The fat between the meat & skin was not rendered down. The dish arrived last at the table and was cold. The skin itself was not crispy. The actual meat had zero seasoning / taste (was like eating dried cardboard). Overall, it was oily, fatty, and the taste of the gamey duck scum was highly prominent. A thoroughly disappointing meal and their entire roast duck selection should be removed from their menu completely.
Char siu (BBQ pork meat) taste was not too bad, but was 40% fat so was too rich for my personal liking.
Granted it was during lunch period, but the service was exceptionally slow despite the high number of staff bustling about screaming at each other. Focus / priority seemed to be more on deliveries / takeaways instead of dine-ins, so that might be the reason for the slow service.
Environment was horrendous with garbage cans strewn along the walk ways beside the customer tables and also right beside the bags of raw ingredients (potential contamination). Ventilation was poor, the air hanging heavy with oil, smoke / steam, and body odor.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. IT DEFINITELY DID...
Read moreVery cold aircon seating available but if you want to eat in peace and comfort, think again. It's noisy like hell. Extremely Annoying horn sound alerts that come on every few minutes 😡 wondering if they are online order sound alerts. Too LOUD, so jarring while trying to eat, totally ruin mood to eat 📢 The food wasn't great, ok la, but the ambiance was downright dreadful. Accoustics are terrible in small enclosed cramped area, even some coffeeshops are quieter. Tables are close together, can hear everyone's conversation over your own. Neighbour sneezing, is alarming.
Char Siu Curry Mee RM12.50 was a gorgeous red, spicy but somehow lacked depth /taste. Not so tasty, just spicy, needed more salt. Green beans beautifully bright green, fresh and crunchy, tauge also. Siu yuk had some fat, layer of oil on top of soup ( you may like chilli oil ?) wantan noodles served in a tight lump, had to disengage the strands.Ordered together with porridge, served when porridge half finished.
3 type egg porridge RM12.50 had yu tiao and raw egg, bits of century egg and salted egg, huge bowl. Served steaming hot, taste was Ok, quite nice.
RM29.35 for a porridge , a noodle and 1 Chinese tea. My review is a personal one, my honest feedback about today's meal. we didn't opt for a...
Read moreVery bad experience in Good Taste SS14. I ordered wan tan mee with steamed chicken this afternoon. I notice a strong foul smell when they served me the chicken. Aside from the smell, the colour of the chicken skin was darker than the usual steamed chicken and it appeared to be very 'blood-ish'. I never think too much and proceed to take a bite of a slice of the chicken which seemed to be fully cooked (no blood). I vomited it out after chewing it as the smell was too strong for me to handle. I informed the cashier on the smell and she proceeded to ask the staff to re-steam it. However, the smell is still there after they re-steamed it. After taking a closer look of the chicken, I noticed that there's slimy texture under the chicken skin which I never saw anything like that before when I had steamed chicken. I suspect the chicken may not be undercooked but has gone bad. Very...
