In general in terms of the food is pretty decent and delicious as well. Their char kuey teow is their specialty and is must try if you ever go to any of the Sisters Kopitiam outlet. Compared to many other char kuey teow outside, this was pretty decent and better than some but not the best I tried. Another common Penang dish that I tried is their white curry mee. It's one of the more seafood inspired dish as compared to other white curry mee being sold elsewhere as there's no use of pork or chicken being used in the dish but the seafood that was used is very fresh! Even though it wasn't the best experience for me in terms of food but they have own uniqueness in their dish that makes it special as compared to the rest. In terms of service, is on average as compared to many other similar shops out there. To sum it up, I would say it'll be a good place for anyone who wants to try any unique and decently taste local food. I've been here for at least a couple of years now so you could trust...
Read moreI come here for their Curry Mee (in my case, kuey tieow) and occasionally their Char Kuey Tieow. Their food is okay by my standards. I find their prawns bland tasting and lacking in freshness.
They had good Curry Chee Cheong Fun but I haven't had it for awhile now.
The story of the kopitiam is abit more interesting though. I've grown up in the area so I've known the aunties for a long time. They used to operate a sundry shop. But when 99 speed mart moved in, their business dropped dramatically as they couldn't compete with 99 speed mart's pricing and they decided to pivot to the F&B business. I remember their uncertainty back then when they informed my family of the change but I think that no longer holds true today.
Pivoting was their best decision they've made for their business. They now also own a branch that serves the working crowd (which of course comes with a higher price point) called Sister's Place at...
Read moreQuality of their food has gone drastically downhill since the second generation took over. My family has been been loyal customers since the aunties first opened the place when I was still in high school. Gone are the days where their Char Koay Teow was somewhat close to the Penang version (coming from a Penangite).
Service has also been very disappointing despite the fact that they’re much better staffed these days, expect longer waiting time and for your orders to be messed up (even with the clear order chit) from time to time. Generally, they’re very kelam-kabut, almost every trip here I’ve witnessed the cook arguing with the waitresses on wrong orders while customers watch and wait for them to fix it.
The gist is, don’t even bother. I’ve given up on this place and have found that any random CKT stall at nearby kopitiams would more likely serve up a better plate with...
