Honestly, the food standard can only be 3 stars or even lower. But the waiters mainly foreign workers were humble, friendly and welcoming when I visited the restaurant, for this I would like to show my support for their efforts.
Come back to reality, the menu to begin with is quite confusing, it's mainly image illustration, I don't recall seeing any description of what's in those deluxe sets, I can vaguely tell the ingredients from the image, but it'll absolutely be more professional to have item description on it. The order system is by scanning qr code by the way.
I've ordered the economy beef set which comes with slices of beef meat, some veggies, a fish cake and udon, I also top up RM 2.80 for a garlic bacon rice. (Garlic bacon rice was quite plan and bland for my pallet.)
The ingredients was served quickly, sadly the meat slices had some black edge and looked dried, which caused me to doubt it's freshness, the taste of the meat is all right thou despite of its look. They also have this refillable cabbage slice for the ala carte set order, which is great, but to be frank, I don't think it matches with the whole experience, and it'll be great if they can have other options of refillable veggies beside cabbage slices to up their game.
Overall grill experience is quite unique, the have this funny grill plate that have a round groove that fill with waters that heat up together with the grill. Waiter will offer butter or lard for grease option. The meat will be place on the grill where the cabbage/veggies/noodle will be soak at the side. I was alittle puzzle when all ingredients are served but manage to figure out in the end.
They have this signature sweet savory sauce that you can mix with lime juice, fresh garlic and chillies to create your own preference, the sauce is unique and taste all right, but I won't praise too much of it. Since nowadays every steamboat or BBQ shop always has a special sauce on their sleeve.
I was keen to order their recommended Thai milk tea, but to my surprise, it was not available. Seriously guy... is recommended, and is just Thai milk tea.๐ but they do have refillable green tea as option, and price are like RM 3.5+- so that's good.
Well, I felt a little disappointed that they are focusing on A la carte base, I know they do have lunch set and seasonal all you can eat promo from time by time, but it'll just be great if they are open to all you can eat option more. As I ended up spending RM 48 for myself which I can top up a bit for a buffet nearby. But in their defense, their cuts are slightly thicker and I can actually dine in with another person and get the price divided into two persons. In conclusion, I would still recommend others to try out for the experience, and one might actually fall in love with their experience and flavour, however, for me I might not repeat visit the...
ย ย ย Read moreOne start it is already too much for this brunch. Firstly the lady that stand in-front of the counter are very rude. She was told us that it is full house on 750pm and we need to be wait for 2 hours for dine in. I told her to write down my phone number , please contact me once there is available. They called me on 815 and said there is seats available ๐. Well what a good technique to โscareโ customers away .
Then they asked me want to order buffet or ala carte , i asked for a menu they say they dont have the menu , only a qr quote to scan, once i ask for the QR quote , they refuse to answer/ show me the QR quote ๐. I am force to walk infront the cashier to take the only hard copy menu for my parents to hv a look .
They keep on remind that last call on 830pm for buffet . Well their last call not only means you have to make up your mind wanted to order buffet or ala carte . Hence if you order for buffet, you only have ONE chances to place all your portion that u wanted to order . I had try my best to communicate with their stuff , i said i dont know how big is your portion how am i going to estimate how much i wanted to order , the stuff just kept repeating, itโs our last call anyway ๐๐๐. I said if in this case that you cant give us even a chance to refill . can i order 50 portion to place on desk , to avoid us underorder ? The stuff just said u may go ahead and didnโt explain any Terms and conditions.
Well well well , last they want us to paid for the remains meat portion. 100g for RM 10 guys i just felt cheated.
Anyway , I refuse to paid and talk to the manager . They accept on my return of those meat . But anyway it was a terrible dinner experience. LAST VISIT IN MY LIFE ....
ย ย ย Read moreWent to have a day out with my mum and decided to have our lunch at BBQ Plazza. I don't know about the majority but the flavour of it is bland as heck. I get that that's the concept of it and they do provide sauce but I actually expected more especially since the meat and soup is not seasoned AT ALL. It's just plain meat and soup and nothing more. The sauce choices were so sad I had to rely on the bacon for some taste. As for the drinks it was so watered down and diluted I might as well drink water. There was literally only ONE sauce and that's what they call their special sauce with no other options..... I am genuinely surprised at how they can still survive despite having rough competitions nowadays with all those different amazing hot pots and bbq places. Even Hai Di Lao gives a various options of sauces and they have different kind of flavourful soup base...
As for the service it was decent, not too friendly but not rude either due to language barrier hence it's understandable. But my problem is with the ordering page.....ordered a bunch of meat but only two plates came out. Had to inform the waiter again and again. When we tried to order again through the menu page from the QR code our orders were completely ignored. Unacceptable. Overall it wasn't a pleasant visit the food was pretty meh and the service isn't quite up to par especially with the price we're paying. If BBQ Plazza want to improve they better step up their game as the competition out there is intense. Back then maybe you can get away with just simple ingredients but not anymore as there are more to flavours...
