Beware! 🚨 2 of my items got stolen. I have traveled to many countries but not all in the world and this was the first time my personal items have been taken.
I'm writing this in the hope that no one else has to go through the same experience I did. But, let's face it, if no one speaks up about it, it's likely to happen again - because who really wants to complain or report their missing belongings?
On 3 Mar 2023, I checked into this 2 star hotel De Art USC21 suggested by my friend to stay until 5 Mar 2023.
The next morning I left with my companion for breakfast. Before leaving, I checked everything in the room as I'm an organized person and I made sure my valuables were in order. I had left my power bank and my favorite belch color long sleeve cotton shirt hanging on a hangar in the room.
When I returned in late afternoon, both items were missing. After dinner, I reported it to the front desk and the lady manager promised to get back to me.
The next morning, I went to the reception to follow up on the matter. The male experience staff on duty initially replied, “Unfortunately, there is no CCTV in the room.” I described the sequence of events that led to me reporting the loss, yet he insensitively asked, “Is it a GUCCI brand?” and “Are you accusing our staff?” He then called the two female staffs in charge of our room to verify. The one cleaning ours couldn’t even look me in the eye when questioned. 😔
I am extremely disappointed with how the staff handled the issue. I would not recommend this place to stay unless you have no other choice!
This hotel stay I had will always remain etched in my memory - because of this incident where 2 of my items went missing. 🤔
I’d like to name this place for remembrance sake ‘Hotel Stolen De Art’....
Read moreYou can get to this hotel by going through the back of Main Place mall (LDP side).||The hotel exterior and interios is extremely adorable but maybe be too girly for some.||||We got a room on the ground floor. ||The bathroom is big, room size also okay. I like the pillows, they are very comfyy, but bedding not so. Only toothbush with mini toothpaste is provided as toiletries. ||The dispenser for soap does not dispense soap easily, I have to keep pressing and it comes out a little with each press.||||The internet connection is not good, the wifi on Ground floor didn't work so we had to connect to the one on 1st floor and the connection is not strong. The heater was not working. I informed the guy in the morning because I needed to shower, he came in did some fixing and it worked.||||There's a nightclub nearby called Don't Tell Mum, they play really loud music so you can hear a little of it in the hotel. First night I woke up at 4.30am to go to the washroom, I can hear someone jabbering loudly in Tamil. I can hear the whole conversation as if he was in the toilet with me :( Then i went back to bed I still can hear him loudly until I finally managed to doze off.||||Following morning we went out, came back at night but our room was not made. We asked for fresh towels and bottled water from the reception. We checked out the following day. Overall the stay is okay if you are not fussy. Ask for a room on a much much higher floor so you don't someone...
Read moreThe room was clean; that was a plus point.
However there were too many other issues with the room, especially for a new hotel.
Room was stuffy and had a strong smell. When I was having a hot shower, the heating would trip and I would need to turn it back on multiple times. Towels & bed were slightly dirty.
Noise insulation is close to being non existent, so you’d be able to hear every sound/noise from every room around you. That kept me awake the whole night, as there were some noisy neighbours.
For the price, perhaps it could be...
