Very Disappointing Visit to Warakuya Garden, Puchong – Poor Hygiene & Table Setup
I had high expectations returning to Warakuya Garden in Puchong after a good first experience, but sadly, my recent visit was extremely disappointing.
First and foremost, the hygiene level was unacceptable. As shown in the attached photo, the container for pickled ginger had no serving spoon or utensil provided. This means every customer is expected to use their own chopsticks — which have already been in their mouths — to pick up the ginger. This is not just unprofessional, it is clearly unhygienic and a health risk, especially in a Japanese restaurant.
Secondly, the seating arrangement was very poorly handled. I understand it was Father's Day and the restaurant was full, but setting up small unstable tables in what is normally the walkway just to accommodate more people is not acceptable. You can see in the photo that the tables were cramped, unsteady, and had dirty tablecloths. Our table couldn't even fit dishes for four people properly, and with customers and staff constantly passing by, it was extremely uncomfortable — even worse than eating at a roadside hawker stall.
This experience was far below the standards I expected, and it was a big letdown especially for a special occasion. I sincerely hope the management takes this feedback seriously. Cleanliness and proper customer care should never be compromised, even during peak periods.

Read moreA nice environment Japanese restaurant from mid price to high price food. The wait is long here (30min as a minimum & up to 2H or more), however they have drinks and tidbits to keep hungry guests happy and to lessen their hunger during the long wait, which is brilliant. There is even 3 Massage Chair to massage customers who needs soothing. The Special Warakura Roll is recommended, it's without rice, crispy & tasty, goes well Erth Wasabi. The Ishiyaki Geki Kara Don is another recommended dish (pork with rice & egg) just like in Japan. Snow Fish is known as very best fish to eat during my fishing trip among anglers; you can get Snow Fish here as well: either Terayaki (Normal) or with Mayo + it's egg as the topping called Gintara Mentai Yaki. Their Chocolate Mochi Ice Cream is disappointing as the picture looks big but it's too miniscule to even taste the mochi or to enjoy it. They also sell Japanese Alcohol drinks here. They have live oyster & crabs here. For those who want and experience of Granduer can order a mini boat of Sashimi with 2 mini fireworks. There is Baby Chair here and indoor seating only (air-con) 1st flr (Tatami seating) & Ground flr...
Read moreCame for a birthday dinner celebration, there were 10 of us in total. Was given the private room and staff informed there will be minimum order (as it should) we were happy to oblige. As we ordered, the food came out at a slower pace, granted was a weekend night so it was packed. Sushi were ok but not the freshest looking, some came out at ‘room temperature’. We tried to order salmon belly but were told out of stock.
Towards the end of the meal we were told we have a certain amount till the minimum spend so the manager/supervisor recommended we order the big boat. As we reviewed the sashimi on the boat we decided it was not quite worth it, at which we tried to ask for salmon belly again although we were already told it was out of stock.
The manager generously said he could salvage some for us. We were thrilled. However when the boat came, it had only 6 measly thinly sliced salmon belly displayed on the centre with other types of sashimi on the sides.
Safe to say we were rather disappointed.
We understand the manager/supervisor’s good intentions however for a large Japanese restaurant to be out of stock for salmon belly just seems a little out...
