Ordered our first round of soufflé, and pancakes and drinks. Decided to order another soufflé to end the day.
After some time we worried that the order was not taken, so on my way to the toilet I brought along the receipt and asked them to check if the order was taken, with the most polite manner, cuz I'm also in the service industry and I can understand a well behaved customer is all we ask for, as a service employee.
There were 2 people where I asked, the guy looked down at the order lists and said yes the order is here. Getting the confirmation that I needed, so I was about to continue to the toilet. The girl next to him added, you placed your order at 10.21pm only, hinting that the waiting time is normal, and that we have not really waited for long. And because I didn't check the time, I didn't know how long we've waited so I thought she was right and I walked away to the toilet and went back to my table.
I took less than a minute from talking to them and back to my table, and I checked my phone, the time was 10.50pm. That means we've waited for 29 minutes, and that's a normal preparation time for their soufflé, and that's fine.
The food came at about 10.55pm. Some lights in the shop were turned off at 11pm, air conditioner is turned off right in front of us at 11pm. A waiter stood beside our table ready to clean the table. We were not even the last customers in patron.
Last call for their shop is 10.30pm, shop is closed at 11pm. I respect that. But if the food takes more than half an hour to be served, shouldn't the last call be more than half an hour before they close for it to make sense?
We even ordered 9 minutes before their last call, and we only had 5 minutes to eat our food. Does it mean people who ordered during last call will not even have time to eat at all?
It's such a disrespectful action to shut the air conditioner right in front of customers while they are still eating, and we were not the last customers. Especially it was because the food was served right before the shop is closed.
If you are here, do not drop your orders during their last call. You will be...
Read moreI have visited the Soufflé dessert café five times. Each time, I ordered the same flavor — mango. On all my previous visits, the soufflé was beautifully presented with fresh mango cubes, a mini jar of mango purée, a piece of ice cream biscuit, a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and, of course, the soufflés themselves.
However, with each visit, I noticed a decline in quality. The soufflés were getting smaller, the ingredients were reduced, and the portions of fruit became inconsistent. The worst experience was during my most recent visit — the soufflé was served cold, and the ice cream biscuit along with the vanilla ice cream were missing altogether.
When I asked about it, I was informed that the ice cream and biscuit were now considered “add-ons” and would incur additional charges. When I asked the waiter/waitress about it, they responded rudely, saying the menu was written that way and blamed me for not reading it properly.
My question was why, during previous visits, the order did not mention the inclusion of ice cream and biscuits, and customers were charged without being informed. Now, additional fees are being applied. No waiter or waitress informed us that the ice cream and biscuit were complimentary; instead, they were added directly to the bill without explanation.
I hope the waiters and waitresses can improve their service by repeating customers’ orders and confirming with them about any add-ons in the future.
I will share all my previous ordered photos and the last pathetic cold and small soufflés without ice cream and...
Read moreReferring to the Puchong outlet. Been here 5 times. Their desserts are good and the pictures speak for themselves.
However, the last 2 visits left me disappointed not with their food but with their waiting time.
4th visit - came before 8.30pm. After 8.30pm, it gets very crowded and will take some time to get a table. Waited for about 15 mins to get a table, placed 2 orders. Waited for close to 45 mins for the first plate and 15 mins later the 2nd plate. Understand it was busy but I've been here when it was busy before and it didn't actually take that long so I let it slide.
5th visit - came before 6.30 pm on a weekday and there was only 1 table occupied. One order was placed before me and followed by my order of 2. Again it took 30 mins for the first plate to arrive followed by the 2nd plate 15 mins after.
My concern is the crowd difference didn't make a difference in the waiting time. If this is the new procedure, please inform that you will serve late as a regular is used to your service being timely.
So a tip, don't come in hungry as you would have to wait a minimum of 30 mins for your order.
But on a positive note, I'd recommend the Yuzu Lime Souffle as it's delicious. Think Honey Lemon on a Souffle. And their matcha ice cream has a good taste to it and they serve...
