I write not for the sake of a complain but if Yuen Garden take this is ok to continue, then this is not fit as a restaurant. As a guest, I find this not acceptable. I had a meeting this afternoon between 2-4pm. Not peak hour, but there are guests in the restaurant. Your staff began washing the restaurant floor with soap and detergent, really washing not mopping, i mean water hose inside the restaurant. Your guests are eating why do you do that? Washing isn't it when your shop is closed or before open, 2x a day but they choose to do it at 2.30-3.30? One lady staff keep apologizing says sorry and please excuse. OK it was done, but then at 330pm, the same lady ask us to relocate our table because they are now washing this half of the restaurant! Gosh, we are eating despite the soap and detergent all over. Why does she need to apologise when she know this is NOT THE RIGHT THING TO DO? Excusing and apologizing in this case only means as saying, but never correction and yet ask us to relocate because the other half of the restaurant needed to be washed!!! I was upset and she say she will feedback to her boss! Ya right. I am writing now hopefully the bozz sees, noway doing your weashing inside the restaurant when guests are eating....unacceptable. Anyway, people, please ensure you go at peak hours if not be excused for the washing in the daytime....unbelievable such action by...
Read moreAbout 10 years back, we enjoyed dining at this shop as it gave us the ambiance of eating dim sum like the Hong Kong style where carts were pushed for orders. Hubs suddenly feel like giving it a try after our last trip many years back. We were there on Wednesday morning around 8 am. There was very little crowd comparing to the olden days. We were welcomed by this lady stationed at the entrance. Since there was small crowd we decided to sit at a little more secluded area however the lady stop us saying that we cannot use that table. Did not know what she was mumbling about but probably saying the two of us cant occupy the longer table for 4, there was no crowd anyway and there were so many empty tables inside out.
The food quality has deteriorated and the size of the items were to big to our liking as our stomach was too occupied for us to try other types of dim sum. We also ordered egg tarts and to our dismay it tasted bad, pastry was not crunchy and the egg pudding taste weird. Well probably this will really be the last time for us eating our dim sum here....
Read moreWe went to grab a late quick lunch on New Year’s Day and we were very quickly seated even though the restaurant was quite full. This is one of the few dim sum places where the dim sum goodies are wheeled around in a cart around the patrons tables. The siu mai here and the fish paste balls are huge compared to other places. The shrimp cheong fun is wrapped in thin rice paper skins, drenched with shallots and soy sauce which is just nice, not too salty nor sweet. The lo mai kai is tasty too, with well-cooked and seasoned sticky glutinous rice. Steamed pork ribs are so meaty compared to other famous local dim sum places. Another recommended dish is the yam fried pastry (wu kok) with a fine sticky paste wrapped around a savoury minced meat filling. They serve homemade herbal drinks in plastic cups with paper straws. Price wise, we paid about RM110 for 4 pax. Service is friendly...
