A Delightful Evening of Steak Tacos, Risotto, and Decadent Dessert
I recently visited a restaurant that offered a truly memorable dining experience, from the delicious food to the cozy ambiance. Our meal began with steak tacos as a starter, and I can honestly say they were to die for. The steak was perfectly cooked—tender and juicy—with just the right amount of seasoning. The soft tortillas held everything together, allowing each bite to be a burst of flavor. It was an excellent way to start the evening.
For the main course, I opted for risotto burrata with prawns, and it did not disappoint. The risotto was creamy and rich, with the burrata adding a velvety texture, while the prawns were perfectly cooked and succulent. My friend had a portion of calamarata sausage with gochujang, and it was a delightful contrast. The smoky flavors of the sausage paired with the subtle heat from the gochujang created a satisfying dish that she thoroughly enjoyed.
As if the meal couldn't get any better, we ended with a dessert that was both indulgent and comforting. The chocolate sticky toffee pudding was rich and gooey, with a luscious toffee sauce that complemented the chocolate perfectly. It was the perfect way to end an already excellent meal.
Beyond the food, the restaurant itself was a welcoming and cozy place. The warm lighting and comfortable seating made it an ideal setting for a relaxed evening. The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout our visit. Their friendliness added to the overall enjoyment of the dining experience.
In summary, this restaurant offers a wonderful combination of delicious food, a charming atmosphere, and attentive service. If you're looking for a great place to enjoy a meal with friends or loved ones, this is definitely a spot to check out. I look forward to returning to explore more of their menu and enjoy the delightful...
Read moreI had a very disappointing experience at Smugglers. This Saturday, 8th of March, International Women’s Day, when it could be anticipated people would be celebrating, they offered nothing but bad attitude to their clients. The staff switched off the music at 10:30 PM, making it very clear that they wanted guests to leave—despite the fact that there were still several tables occupied both inside and outside. One wouldn’t expect a place to start pushing customers out so early on a weekend, especially when their listed closing time is 1 AM. If they really intend to start closing at 10:30, why didn’t they make that clear beforehand, instead of misleading customers?!
To make matters worse, they actively tried to force us out—creating loud noise while cleaning, aggressively throwing things into the sink, turning off the kitchen lights, and even having a staff member storm out in a huff. Their attitude was terrible, and even when they took our wine bottle from the table, it was done in a way that made it obvious we were no longer welcome.
Overall, a really unpleasant and unprofessional experience. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking for somewhere to relax and enjoy your evening, especially during the weekend, without being rudely rushed...
Read moreWe visited Smugglers for dinner during the weekend - the place was packed so suggest that reservations are made in advance. We opted to stay on the outdoor tables - the place is very chill, decor and ambience are very nice. The waitress brought out fans for each table as it was getting hot at times, to make sure everyone was comfortable. We tried the steak tacos and pasta with nduja sausage for starters - portions were very generous and food was great. For mains we tried the meagre and the sea bass which were also amazing - portions were well sized. We also had complimentary sides for the main dish, which made it really good value for money. Waitress also offered us liqueurs on the house at the end of our meal. We really enjoyed our experience - truly recommend very laid back dinner experience in the quaint...
