My favourite in Malta Later edit: It was a great pleasure to come back here after 2 years and discover the same wonderful people, working with the same passion to maintain the same high standards of quality. We enjoyed many delicious dishes: the indispensable local lobser, local fish trio, Maltese platter, bruschetta, etc. We thank Carisma who wleomed us with good will and smiles, but also to the chefs in the kitchen who cooked this feast on a plate. We came here several times during our holiday. The service was excelent every time. Carisma, our waitress, has been as per her name, charismatic, patient, kind and offered us excellent recommendations. I liked that they have a starter on the house with local and home made appetizers, but I liked most that they have aquariums with 3 types of lobsters: Canadian lobster, spinny lobster and a local slippery lobster (which looks alien but tastes great). Read moreI recently dined at [Hill Top] and unfortunately, my experience was less than satisfactory. I ordered the rib-eye cooked medium to rare, but when it arrived, it was still very red on the inside. Additionally, the creamy mushroom sauce that I ordered was not as described on the menu - it was more like a greavy consistency.
To add to my disappointment, the fries that typically accompany the rib-eye were not included with my meal. Furthermore, I had my heart set on trying the tagliata, only to be informed that it was not in stock.
The presentation of the dish was also lacking, as the meat was served on a hot stone which caused it to burn on the bottom. I had to continuously rotate the meat to prevent it from overcooking and plated it on a plate by myself.
While the staff at [Hill Top] were friendly, their lack of professionalism was evident throughout the meal. Overall, I was left feeling unsatisfied with my dining experience and would not recommend this restaurant...

First off the good, the mussels were an absolute delight, fresh, and the sauce was amazing, we hoped the standard to keep up, but we were absolutely shocked.
The main sized lobster noodles listed in the menu “from the tank” is not. When it arrived, I struggled to find any lobster in the dish. Asking the manager he advised that sometimes when they cut up the lobster there is no meat, seriously. He then said “If we wanted it from the tank, it’s 50€”.
He took the lobster noodles away, and so I ordered pan fried rabbit, this was pretty disgusting, didn’t look pan fried and the manager said it was a stew? With lots of rabbit innards and not much actual rabbit meat.
My partner had the fresh fish for her main, and it was frozen fish - not fresh.
To be paying 45€ for this is an absolute joke. Don’t go here guys for...
