We were offered a small Maltese platter as appetizers on the house and this was nice and tasteful. My boyfriend ordered rib eye with roasted potatoes and veggies. Rib eye was not evenly roasted. Some parts very delicious and some parts were even burnt (was supposed to be medium). I ordered sea food spaghetti with tomato sauce which was completely tasteless. It stated in the menu that it’s going to consist calamari rings, octopus, mussels and shrimps. The entire dish has literally ONE calamari and ONE very tiny octopus, some mussels and actually plenty of shimps. Tomatoes sauce was anywhere near tomatoes. The worst was the quality of service. We were offered a table upstairs and once we have received our food there was no one to be found so in case you want anything else you need to go downstairs yourself and ask. Also after appetizers we had of course dirty dishes on our table (very small table for 2) and the waiter came with main courses and literally almost threw them on the dirty ones. I had to pick them up myself and ask the waiter to take them. Also to take the used empty bottles on the table. Unfortunately the rating is overrated and someone needs to pay more attention to the quality of food and service in this restaurant because it’s not the first time we have such experience but those first few times we blamed on the bad luck and bad day maybe but seems like the situation has repeated so we decided to leave a...

The Fat Rabbit in Nadur on the island of Gozo near Malta is a wonderful restaurant just being the main church in the lively square. We hadn’t made a booking but the waiter asked us if we didn’t mind eating in the alley to the side of the restaurant which is miles better than it sounds. The table was good and the waiter quickly brought the menu for us to peruse. I was immediately impressed by the menu itself printed on good quality paper and presented in a hardback folder. One of my favourite dishes is rabbit stew so I was excited to see this on the menu. Prior to the main courses coming we were given a delicious entree of beans and aubergine. The wine and main courses followed without any delay and my main course was without doubt one of the best rabbit stew I have ever tasted. Prices are very reasonable, service was excellent and definitely a good place to visit more than once...

Unfortunately, we didn’t get the chance to try the restaurant. When I called to make a reservation, I was told that they don’t take bookings and that we should just go there — and if there’s space, they’ll seat us. When we arrived, there were two empty tables outside and the indoor area was also empty, yet the waiter told us that all tables were reserved. When we asked if we could sit inside, they said that was not possible either, as it was also 'reserved'.

Because of this, we chose the restaurant next door — from there, we could clearly see that no one sat inside the entire evening, and the two outdoor tables were only taken much later by walk-in guests.

We were very disappointed, as we had really looked forward to dining here. And since the staff didn’t show the slightest willingness to try and seat us, we didn’t feel like trying again on...

We had the traditional rabbit stew, duck lasagne and two glasses of local wine. Both dishes were so savoury, full of flavour, very well cooked, just perfect. The price we paid was around €40 but they also served us a basket of hot and freshly baked bread with a mix of cooked vegetables, salad and tomato sauce as an antipasto, for free (such a pleasant surprise... the bread was the best). Nice atmosphere with relaxing music. The staff is so friendly, super professional and courteous and the restaurant is very clean. You better dine there when you are starving as their portions are huge. 😊 Also, for groups I would recommend booking in advance as the place gets busy especially for dinner but for two people you might be able to get a table without prior booking. Thank you so much for the great service, guys. Chris & Andreea ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍👏
