The most incredible experience at Aikisu, from start to finish. Roovin the head manager, who was in constant contact with me, making sure I was in the best hands, giving the Hotel & Restaurant a standard of impeccable service, hospitality at it's finest! Aikisu owes a considerable part of its allure to the Roovin's prowess, making it a destination for anyone looking for a truly elevated and refined dining experience. He firstly organised a cocktail at Bisou, the beautiful and breathtaking rooftop bar looking over the ocean, then lead me to my table.

Chef Ram Rai and his masterful team, made me his version of a pescatarian 8 course menu and is was an unparalleled dining experience. He made great effort to visit my table often with the food, explaining each intricate dish and flavour, I can undoubtedly say it was one of he best seafood culinary experiences I've ever had, which is tough comparing to restaurants like FYN, PIER and Chefs Warehouse in Cape Town where I am from.

The sommelier elevated the experience even further, expertly pairing wines that complement and enhance every course. As I am from South Africa with some of the best wines, he expertly knew every region, and my glass was never empty. His ability to intuitively understand the nuances of each dish and recommend the perfect accompaniment showcases a remarkable dedication to his craft.

Finally, my lovely and very attentive server, Lorissa, made me feel right at home, with grace and warmth, guides diners through the menu, ensuring my delightful journey from start to finish. All experts in their field.

Ai Kizu, a haven of tranquility, welcomed us with a serene ambiance and a staff that exuded warmth. Ismael, our attentive server, stood out with his helpful demeanor, enhancing our overall dining experience.

The culinary journey at Ai Kizu took an exciting turn with the exceptional sushi and dim sum offerings. Each bite showcased a meticulous preparation, leaving a lasting impression. The lobster (langouste feuille de paille) and pad thai, though flavorful, left a slight desire for more generous portions, particularly given their enticing taste.

As dessert beckoned, the unconventional chocolate Nori, with its sea-inspired flavor, proved to be an acquired taste not aligned with our preferences. Nevertheless, the culinary experience took a delightful turn with a magnificent birthday cake, elevating the celebratory atmosphere.

A unique touch was added at the entrance, where Ai Kizu treated us to fortune cookies. This small gesture added an element of surprise and enjoyment to the beginning of our dining experience.

On a practical note, while the overall experience was commendable, the pricing, especially a Rs 650 virgin Mojito, may prompt budget-conscious diners to consider their choices carefully. Lovely place. Welcoming staff and really fancy upscale interior. Loved the service and how they go the extra mile. The menu have some really unique item which I really loved. They started us with 2 amuses. A fried chicken with a sweet sauce that would’ve been amazing if it was hot, unfortunately it was ice cold so it didn’t deliver what it was intended to do. The second was a fortune cookie which I really loved. It was fun, surprising, unique (but unfortunately not delicious) We started out with the chicken dumplings. It was amazing and the sauces made it even better. The California roll was nice but nothing memorable. The fried rice and kung pao shrimp where perfect but again nothing memorable yet still super delicious. The dish of the evening was the straw salmon. Super delicious, smokey and tender with a great sauce to match 👍🏻 This was by far the best dining experience I had in Mauritius.
