Our brunch at Bloom last Sunday wasn’t what we expected. It was OK. We were expecting to be blown away especially by the food as on their Instagram page, its pretty wow!
The Decor and design of the restaurant is what catches your attention as you walk in.
In terms of the customer service and experience, we gave it a 4. The waiters we encountered on that day were polite. But towards the end, we ordered for an espresso and a booster shot and we had to keep following up on it- so that was quite annoying. After paying our bill, the manager gave us the opportunity to try the beaded ice cream for free and explained how it was made. We tried the cookies and cream and strawberry ice cream. Both were really good but found the strawberry one a tad sweet for our liking. Nonetheless, awesome new ice cream concept to try! ☺️
Menu: lots of choices and breaky favs. We settled on a the Egg florentine with a side of bacon and a breakfast bun. For drinks we had a latte, espresso, protector & booster shot. We definitely enjoyed our hot and cold beverages esp the booster shots!
As for the dishes, the breakfast bun was a bit stale - dry and not as soft as it should have been. Quite underwhelming. We also had to pay for a tiny bowl of fresh chillies. We thought it was a bit of a rip off to get customers to pay for it as an extra as we’ve never had to pay for it overseas or in Mauritius in the past.
The egg florentine wasn’t too bad- the bread could have been of better quality like a sourdough bread or rustic bread.
Overall, we had a nice experience. Don’t think we’ll be back. Its one of those places that you visit once in a blue moon or if u have time to kill, its a nice place...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at this charming restaurant, and the overall experience left me thoroughly impressed. The atmosphere was delightful, creating a cozy and inviting space to enjoy a meal or even work while sipping on a cup of coffee.
The staff's friendliness and attentiveness added a personal touch to the dining experience. Their genuine enthusiasm to make guests feel comfortable and welcomed was evident throughout my visit.
One unique feature that caught my attention was the small souvenir coffee shop within the restaurant. It added a distinct charm, offering patrons the opportunity to take home a piece of the experience.
Now, onto the culinary delights – the freshly homemade juice was a refreshing revelation. The burst of natural flavors and the evident use of fresh ingredients made it an excellent choice, especially when paired with the delightful mousse aux chocolat. The chocolate mousse was a decadent treat, with a perfect balance of richness and smooth texture that left my taste buds satisfied.
The option to come and work while enjoying a cup of coffee made this place stand out as a versatile spot. Whether you're seeking a quiet place to focus or looking for a relaxing meal, this restaurant accommodates various needs seamlessly.
In conclusion, this restaurant offers a fantastic combination of a great atmosphere, friendly staff, and a unique blend of culinary delights. From the freshly homemade juice to the delicious mousse aux chocolat, every aspect of the dining experience was a pleasant surprise. Read moreLovely decor, great menu, but dreadful service.
Myself and my girlfriend went for the first time today. On arrival and smiling I made eye-contact with a number of staff, however no1 welcomed or invited me in or to sit down, I had to ask if I could sit. The first female Mauritian server was excellent and took my drinks order correctly. However subsequently, when I wanted to try one of the advertised cookies “ask your waiter for details”, the waiter looked at me cluelessly, then went to ask another waiter, before returning to me and telling me I should leave my seat and go to the front of the cafe to see the cookies. Looking through the glass I couldn’t tell. I explained this to the competent waitress who explained that it was the other waiters first day- so perhaps the staff aren’t being trained?
We asked for the bill and it was incorrect as we were undercharged, so I brought it to the attention of a different waiter. Finally it was time to leave, we stood up, began walking out and I said thank you, and received no response, and no thanks from anyone.
I feel this place has great potential given the great menu, location, ambience amongst customers, and decor - however the customer...
