The Cloud - Rooftop & Lounge Bar — Restaurant in Isle Mauritius

Firstly I have to say that this bar is really beautiful and the setting is just stunning, however the service I received here was not the greatest.

When I arrived, admittedly with no pre booking as I thought they may have seats for “walk-ins” - I was told by the concierge guy that I could have a seat anywhere with the agreement that I would move should the reserved guests turn up…which of course is absolutely fine.

As soon as I ordered my drink, I was then told I had to move which was fine. There were loads of EMPTY seats still available but I was told to sit at the bar on some really uncomfortable oil drums.

I asked if I could move to another table which was empty and was made to feel bad about this (I can understand creole, but look/sound very much like a tourist) but clearly the reserved group wasn’t showing up, since it was an hour past their booking…which the bar staff were discussing.

All in all, surroundings good - cocktails look/taste great. But I just wouldn’t go back for the way I was treated…which out trumps every else in my opinion - style...

We got the mini burgers and while it was delicious, the french fries had a weird seasoning; it felt like glass in the mouth, which I did not like. Also, we were told that they do not have alcoholic cocktails (uh, it's a bar) and we were flabbergasted to see them serve other tables alcohol. However, the worst part is that a server added a drink, labelled "diverse drink" and rushed me to pay, not even giving time ti have a proper look at the receipt. When I questioned him, he first tried to throw his colleague under the bus, and then he pretended he did not understand at all, and did not even apologise for the mistake. We were reinbursed, but his behaviour felt suspicious, like he does that often to steal money from clients. As for the atmosphere, another DJ was advertised and he was not present, which was weird. Went here with friends for dinner on the weekend! The place was fairly full… once we settled onto a table, we waited a while for someone to come take orders… had to attract the waiter’s attention finally so we could place the order! We ordered some baos and as we were quite hungry, we added sole fries to the order, so we can start off on the fries till the Baos arrive! We waited and waited and waited and nothing arrived. When asked the waiter said the fries will come with the rest of the Food. After about 45 mins. the Baos started arriving one by one. When we inquired about the fries, we were told they didn’t have any! Even a bottle of water took more than 15 mins to arrive.
