The Garden Grill — Local services in Isle Mauritius

During our second visit to The Garden Grill before our journey back home, we were treated to an exceptional dining experience. Chef Paolo went above and beyond to craft a delightful meal for us. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the tomahawk steaks and Picanha steaks, cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. Accompanying the steaks were mouthwatering honey chicken wings, flawlessly complemented by white rice and a refreshing salad.

Not stopping there, we decided to indulge in some of their beef burgers, which came adorned with cheese and eggs. The combination of flavors was nothing short of exquisite, and each bite was a testament to the chef's culinary expertise.

Chef Paolo's dedication to ensuring our satisfaction was evident throughout the night. His attention to detail and passion for his craft truly elevated the dining experience. The ambiance of The Garden Grill, combined with the delectable dishes and impeccable service, made for an unforgettable evening.

The worst steak I’ve ever had in my life!

I wanted a nice steak dinner and found myself at this restaurant. The menu seemed interesting and I decided to try the steak. I shouldn’t have.

After waiting for a reasonable amount of time, my meal was served. It DID NOT look like what was advertised but I hoped it would taste better than it looked. Again, I was let down.

The steak was DRY, BLAND, and worse of all, BURNT. After struggling to eat this pathetic apology of a steak, I had to give up midway and let me money go to waste.

A complete let down!

The restaurant also did NOTHING to rectify the situation or offer any compensation or apology for the chef’s lack of expertise, even after I complained and requested the bill. The chef also made NO attempt to ask me why I couldn’t eat the meal he prepared. This is the same chef going from table to table asking other people if they enjoy their meal. Maybe because I’m a black woman and I don’t speak their language, who knows?!

I’m saddened by this experience and I left this restaurant very disappointed and still hungry; which is ironic after spending Rs.1,410.

The only good thing about this whole experience was the glass of wine I had.

Booked via whatsapp for the new year's eve dinner. Specified chicken instead of beef when booking. On entry we reminded them of chicken instead of beef again. Service was great until the tables filled up, then it was a disaster. Only two waiters who were run off their feet and sweating profusely. We were brought beef and we specified chicken again. Someone then remembered to put the chicken to cook!!! Everyone had eaten their main course and we were still waiting for our mains. One sad piece of thigh and a drumstick which were totally devoid of taste. And 2 viennas!!! No rice or salad as per the set menu. Other couples got 2 portions of fries and we got only one portion.
