SelFish — Restaurant in Isle Mauritius

We went there to watch the rugby.

Coming from SA it was great to connect with other people from SA and watch the game together. It seems as if everyone knows esch other there.

We ate Pap, sous and wors. It was good. Nice 'n spicy.

We were able to walk there from our accommodation, at Residence LevChoisy, so that was handy.

It's very beachy inside with wood benches and a pub. Toilets are clean. The staff constantly checked on us.

The guests were mostly adults, a few teens and someone brought their dog, which we enjoyed seeing.

Selfish is a great bar and restaurant in Pointe aux Cannoniers (opposite the petrol station). Great food, very welcoming with exceptional, attentive service, a wide selection of drinks and friendly locals and staff.

The pizzas are home made, fresh and delicious (also takeaway). They always have great specials on offer as well as steaks and a wider menu. Lots of choice!

The restaurant has two parts - road side (behind a boundary wall) and a lovely ‘secret garden’ at the back.

Well worth a trip out from Grand Bay a couple of miles up the road...

This used to be a good restaurant, but it has become terrible. The waitress did not inform us that some dishes were not available until we placed the order. The starters were exceptionally oily and almost inedible. We asked for a wine list, just to be told they only have one bottle of red, one of white and one rose.... I would not recommend this place and will definitely not be back, which is a pity as it really used to be a lovely little spot...
