Where to start? Maison du Nord was the best choice - to stay on Mauritius. The whole place is absolutely fantastic, from the very moment we walked in we felt like home away from home surrounded by the nicest staff that you could ever wish for ❤️ So close to everything: local shops, cafes, take aways, restaurants in a very safe area/road. 24 hours of security, private parking space, lovely pool, spotlessly clean and well equipped apartments with everything you need. The owner and the manager both lovely and super friendly, went above and beyond to make our stay more comfortable and our holiday the most memorable so far. Just a few examples to mention: printed tourist map of Mauritius without even asking with all the must see places highlighted, the best day trip booked for the best price, luggage service, shower room after checkout, can opener, mosquito spray, umbrella, wine glasses so on. No matter what, nothing is ever to much trouble for the staff, they are always there to stop for a short chat with a big smile on their faces, to offer help, give you advice or just simply ask you whether everything is okay. In the morning, in the evening, someone always around and treat you as a family member and welcome you as you welcome your own family...if not even better! After 7 years in a hospitality sector as a frequent traveller I would say that this kind of hospitality is an absolut different level that you simply cannot learn or to be trained for! The staff is ONE BIG FAMILY at Maison du Nord which makes the difference!

Not to forget the amazing breakfast with freshly made omelettes of your choice, big variety of fresh vegetables, fruits, baguettes, fresh pancakes with different toppings, fresh juices and the coffee is also really lovely. I couldn't really find any faults in our stay, apart from that I could stay there forever 😁🤗 Sales and service superiority 5*. A Home Away from Home – Maison du Nord

From the moment I arrived at Maison du Nord, I felt like I was part of a family. Landing at 3 AM, I was warmly welcomed by Aska at the gate and led to a temporary room to rest. The next morning, Nour guided me to the reception, where Ms. Shouetta greeted me with a kind smile and warm words. As I checked in, Mr. Vishnu swiftly arranged for my luggage to be taken to my new room—everything was seamless and well-organized.

Throughout my stay, I met Mr. Roshane, who made the best omelettes and pancakes in the morning, always sharing jokes and laughter. Ms. Vandana and another lovely cleaner ensured our rooms were spotless and our clothes fresh. When my siblings decided to join me on an impromptu trip, Mr. Raj at reception kindly offered a discounted rate, making our experience even more special.

One of the most memorable moments was my conversations with Mr. Vishnu. We joked a lot, and he introduced me to the concept of karma—the idea that the goodness you put into the world comes back to you. He told us we were enjoying our stay not because of anything they were doing, but because of who we are inside. It was such a beautiful and humbling perspective.

What truly sets Maison du Nord apart is the genuine care from the staff. One morning, after a late night out, they noticed our balcony door open and waited patiently for us to come down for breakfast, reassuring us that they had been looking out for us. That level of attention and kindness is rare.

Having stayed in five-star hotels worldwide, including in Mauritius, I can confidently say that Maison du Nord’s intentional service and warm hospitality remain unmatched. When we arrived , we knew it’s going to be a good stay , what we didn’t knew was that leaving from the hotel was going to be sadder than leaving the island . We arrived in the morning and the manager and the staff received us with smiles , warmness and a free buffet breakfast from the house ( for 4 people ) . Our rooms were ready just after the delicious breakfast ( altough it was hours earlier than usual check in ) , and we had also the surprise of free upgraded rooms . Very spacious rooms , air conditioned , with big confortable beds ( cleaned every day ) .Our rented car was keeped safe and under surveillence , in the private parking by the staff and the most dedicated guard I’ve seen so far . We thank and salute him for that . The pool looks very good , with clean water and maintained daily .Buffet breakfast is served just near the pool and it’s very tasty with quality products and fresh fruits .We ate delicious personalized omlete and pancakes every day . The whole area is clean and with lot of tropical vegetation . Altough checkout is usual at 11:00 in the morning , they let us keep the room until 18:30 ( no additional cost) as our flight was in the evening . I read the reviews before coming and was a little sceptic , but reality was way better than expectations . I thank once again the hotel and the whole staff for our staying at their place .The manager is truly a special rarely person....
