Le Palmiers Restaurant — Restaurant in Isle Mauritius

A rusty , slippy furniture restaurant with only 2 card menu’s the whole evening for everybody . Altough the ocean is 3 feet away , the only fresh meat was : chicken and octopus , everyhting else frozen but “ very tasty” as I quote the manager . We tried to order from the menu , but they hadn’t any drink menu( they had only food menu) at all , so no price no nothing . When the bill came , we were fulled with higher prices of food than we’ve seen on the menu ( the manager said , I quote : the prices changed this morning” ) , unordered cocktails ( 2 of them ), and of course high unjustified prices for drinks ( the manager said , I quote : “ The price is fair , because Grand Baie has higher prices “ We ate octopus curry and chicken curry and the food was OK. We ate there twice during our stay in Grand Baie. Both times, food was absolutely delicious! We had fish curry, chicken curry, lamb curry, and octopus rougaille. Food quality was excellent, and everything was fresh and yummy. The owner is very friendly, and he is not trying to sell something that is, for example, out of season - we really appreciated that. Both times, we also got delicious rum with lemon / ginger as a nice finish...

The food at this restaurant in Mauritius was good, but the experience was ruined by the owner's racist behavior. Additionally, we almost got scammed as the bill was 1000 rupees higher than expected.
