L'Assiette d'Antan — Restaurant in Moka

Super super disappointed. Heard a lot of great reviews. But disappointed to see what they had to offer.

Was there last week Thursday evening for dinner with the family. It starters with the services. First we were seated and then not asked anything else. We had to try to get the attention of the waiter, who didn’t seem to know what he was doing. 2 of my guest has to go to the bar for drinks!!. Finally after we got the menu, nothing was explained, only after we heard that there was a buffet. We ordered our drinks, but… NO ICE. The was no ice. How is this possible. We were there around 19:00 but no ice. Drinks selection was also very limited. Beers on tap actually comes from a bottle more expensive too.

Dinner time, no one checked on us. Asked how things was going. Someone who looked liked the manager walked past but didn’t pay any attention to us but more so to the big table next to us. Very rude behaviour from the manager I might add.

Most disappointing was the food, only 4 pots. Not filled , mostly empty. Only 9 chooses total 4 warm items, 2 cold salads and one chilli sauce and rice. That’s it. The photos and descriptions is poor advertising and false. They only do that for the marketing people that eat at their restaurants for the clout!

All in all very disappointing and bad experience. Beautiful location but sadly poor service, false advertisement, not worth the price and poor management!

Hopefully they can take this as a feedback and improve on their standards they advertise but...

Seriously a big NO! First of all i made a reservation a week before and that for 9 persons. But when we went there, they were not aware of us coming..?! I specifically told them about some of my guests being vegetarian, yet we were told that no veg option was available as starters! After several complaints, out of the blue, beg snacks were available, i mean how? The worse customer service from the guy who served us. Not even an apology for the chaos. They even misplace our orders & gave it to another table. They moved us from the siting area when we were the one who came first! Quantity of starter is horrible for the price we had to pay! I mean nothing really nothing special in the taste ! Come on, our bill costs rs2000+ pp! Really worse experience. It’s day...

I absolutely love going to L'Assiette d'Antan every time I am visiting Mauritius. The ambiance is just warm and inviting.

As for the food, it was nothing short of outstanding. The buffet offered a delightful range of dishes, each prepared with fresh ingredients, cooked to perfection and flavourful.

One of the highlights of the evening was the live performance by a local singer, which added a wonderful touch to the night. His soothing vocal created the perfect backdrop to the meal, making it feel even more special. The combination of great food, live music, and attentive service made for an unforgettable experience.
