Santo Cielo Cocina Gourmet — Restaurant in Baja California Sur

We arrived around 5:30. Ordered a gin Martini and lemonade natural. We then ordered octopus and the chef came out to tell us the octopus was over cooked and tough and I asked him for a recommendation and he suggested bacon shrimp. The food arrived, no service in between of 45 minutes and no one to check on us...we ended up feeding the food to our dog. Bacon around the shrimp wasn’t fully cooked and I asked for our server but no one came. After over an hour our sever came to us and I asked for the bill, we paid and left.

Pros were the chef does care and recommended another dish because octopus was over cooked and they came with water for our dog and without asking. They put a fan on us and a lime concoction over a little bunsen burner to keep flys away. Not sure what this is called but not all restaurants In the area do this.

Cons were the one dish we ordered per the chef was bad(veggies were good) and the drink was terrible and mostly they lost out on business by not being attentive and checking in. Even with Language barriers there is always a place for service to meet needs of the business they are working for as well as tips they could receive from added food or drinks if they had checked On the customer. I asked another sever for drinks and to get our sever but no one came. From sitting over an hour Our server did not come by once. I’ve been in the service industry so I get a little annoyed with Bad service being that this was suppose to be good loreto food experience. And don’t order a martini...not sure what I was served...a watered down margarita with some gin in...

The place was very nice, the live music was nice, there weren't many people literally it wasn't that busy. Only 3 tables with people. we ordered something to drink, Which took too long to have our drinks. I ordered an octopus and after a while, the waiter came to say he was sorry that there was no octopus, so I ordered something else. My husband ordered some breaded fish tacos and after a long while, he came to say that he was sorry that there was no breading for the fish, that he was going to grill them, To which we told him ok, well, it's fine, but they were terrible. After asking for the bill, it took a long time to get it and on the bill receipt it said, suggested tip and it was added to the total. When it came time to pay, the waiter asked if we were going to give a tip and by mistake, we put yes, but then we clarified what it was that was already on the receipt to which she said it was only a tax, but a tax is not entered as a suggested tip. The credit card machine had no paper. So he couldn't give us a receipt. The service was really, really, really terrible. Too bad for the place, it's nice and you can have a good time, but the service leaves a lot...

First time visiting Loreto and staying in the city center. This place was recommended by the hotel we were staying at offering a couple free drinks etc. We decided to come over and I have to say was not disappointed!! It’s off the main path but the ambiance was fantastic, music was great, staff was the nicest and most accommodating, and the food was absolutely delicious!! After being in Mexico the past couple of days and having plenty of tacos and fresh fish I opted for the fettuccine with shrimp and honestly blew any other I’ve had out of the water!! They were also very accommodating with gluten and vegan options as well with the chef coming out and preparing a grilled vegetable kabob. I highly recommend if...
