This place is legit. Definitely off the beaten path. It is a bit of a walk from the central plaza where all of the tourist trap restaurants are, and you have to walk through several dimly lit streets, but once you get there, the food is amazing. I have been to Tijuana at least a dozen times and the tacos at this restaurant beat any of the others I have ever had. I was the only foreigner there, along with my wife.
We had 4 carne asada tacos, 1 quesadilla, 2 horchata drinks, and the bill came out to roughly $11. We left a nice tip with the money we saved. The meat was very tender and flavorful, the guacamole was smooth and thick - just heaven!

There was a line to be seated, but it went fast. Three place was PACKED! Waitstaff and bussers moving with precision clearing plates and bringing food. Smoke filled the air from the grill.
We ordered a variety of tacos; el pastor (the star choice and nicely garnished with onion & pineapple), chorizo (super tasty!), steak, & shrimp. Loved that there was a salsa bar with pico di gallo, 4 salsas (mild thru muy picante!) along with cabbage, onions, and silky avocado. The horchata had a hint of cinnamon which was tasty.
Come with...
