Giuseppi's — Restaurant in Baja California

I been living in Tijuana with my wife for the past year. Every Friday night we eat here. Food is good and service is ok until Saturday. My parents came to visit us and we took them here Saturday evening. My dad order the lasagna. We he almost finished and got to the bottom there was a hair on his plate. We told the waiter and he gave us attitude. When I went to pay they asked how much I was leaving for a tip. I said zero there was a hair in my dads plate. The manager was standing next to me and she said “I removed the dish from your ticket so it was free. Considering the dish was almost done I didn’t have to do it”. I told her. The hair was at the bottom of the lasagna. I don’t think people go to restaurants and inspect their food before they eat. Needless to say we will never be back. I know Mexico don’t have restaurant guidelines or laws in their restaurant like the U.S but the fact that she thought we were trying to get a free dish was beyond hilarious. I ended up leaving $148 pesos on the table as a tip the cost of the dish. She should worry about her employees properly working and serving dishes without hair in it. Be careful eating here. I ordered spaghetti with tomato sauce. The portions were very good considering the cheap price, but the quality was average, since I felt the spaghetti noodles and the sauce was dry. We were offered bread, which I thought was very good. The service was slow at first, since it took them a while to bring us our menus, however, the rest of our stay was quick. The staff was very kind and understanding. When you enter, you’ll have been received by a nice ambience. Very calm and relaxing. The space was small but it wasn’t crowded. It was very clean, with the staff cleaning as soon as clients left their table. In conclusion, I thought it was a good experience, with average food, but with great service and good price. I used to visit this place only for the (Zarzuela de pescado) which was very, very good. Unfortunately, they take it out from the menu… will never go again. It seems that the administration has changed, and they should reconsider some dishes.
