This is the only place with really good food, lobster, views, charm and service! The whole package. We live down here and have tried some of the other places and were disappointed. There is a more mature guy or waiter there at Pescador that really knows the lobster and cooking methods and told us NOT to order the lobster deep fried although it's faster. We did order what he said plus something else we thought looked good, but of course his suggestions rocked & our choices did NOT rock. The refried beans that they serve in a bowl were sooo delicious and went with the rice and lobster perfectly! We need to get back there! And I love sitting on the cliff's edge with the seagulls that come up kinda close to your table looking for a bite to eat. It is too bad the road is such a mess cuz I would be inclined to bring more people to Puerto Nuevo when they come down for a visit, but the road or rather the parking areas are almost treacherous if you are there after dark. It makes it not as pleasant to shop around before or after eating at...

This used to be the place to go. Great atmosphere, fantastic service and high quality food, but we were there last weekend and were highly disappointed. All the areas highlighted (atmosphere, service and food) were average at best. Food was cold and plain, with the tortillas and beans being the main event, which seems super expensive to pay lobster for just beans and tortillas. We ordered the lobster tails special and never got the margaritas. The waiters seemed like they were doing us a favor, because they acted a bit upset when we asked for things they should have anticipated (limes, warm tortillas instead of lukewarm and enough for a large group instead of 4 at a time, etc.). The lobster tails were cold and hard to remove from the shell, which a good lobster tail should not be that hard to maneuver. Honestly, I do not see us coming back to this place; we may try another establishment around Puerto Nuevo or just try something else away from the area (tons of good spots around). Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this...

This is another little taste of Mexico for those of you who have never been before. When you arrive at Puerto Nuevo, you can immediately see all the little shops filled with handmade items made of leather, hats, and other typical souvenirs. As you go down the streets, you will be greeted by "sidewalk restaurant promoters" that will all try their best to get you into their restaurant (they are all good!). Once inside, you will be greeted by your server and taken to your table. All the seafood is great but I chose this place for the lobsters for which this place is so popular. I also got cocktail de pulpo & camarones, it was delicious, but it got better when I added the pico-style table salsa. The lobsters were awesome, you can get them Puerto-style (deep fried) or grilled...yummy! The prices are very competitive, and the atmosphere is very typical, vacationers will not be disappointed.

Puerto Nuevo is a little enclave of 4 streets that are filled with Mexican souvenir and Mexican candy shops and restaurants that specialize in serving grilled Lobster with lots of melted butter on the side, a bowl of beans, rice and tortillas (Puerto Nuevo style). There are many to chose from and I'm sure they are all special. However, La casa del pescador is my favorite because they serve all this deliciousness. Tgeir homemade floer tortillas taste almkst like my grandmother used to make them when I was a kid, plus you can order pitchers of margaritas inside their restaurant. And if you chose to eat in the big balcony out back, you get to experience the ocean view. The staff is always friendly and the food is always consitently good. Don't expect white table cloths. This is family-style Mexican seafood at it's most traditional baja style.

We drove to this location, because a friend of ours had recommended it. Next to the ocean, great food, awesome customer service. Everything was amazing!! Why 3 stars? The dirty mangey cats hanging around the wall, while we were trying to eat! One of them looked extremely sick and disgusting! And no matter how hard we tried to shoo them away, they would come back and try to get our food! Every time they would jump from the roof to the wall to the floor, they would leave a dust cloud behind them of who knows what?! And they just sat there and begged! We spent a total of $150, tip included. Food was delicious and filling, customer service was on point, when they were around, but they were often hard to get ahold of. Would I go back...maybe. It has a really nice view, and the food was good. I just disliked the cats!
