Iāve been coming to PN for lobster since I was 15 (back when you didnāt need your passport), so Iām familiar with the area, but itās definitely changed over the years. I had 2 goals to accomplish, find a place that would take a party of 38 and where we wouldnāt have to wait in line. Some wanted inside, some wanted outside, some wanted beer, some wanted cocktails, some wanted a waterside view. Las Brisas was pretty central to PN and checks most of the boxes.
We took the entire 2nd floor in 2 tales, 1 end to end (28) and another near the balcony (10). We called ahead and they were very accommodating. They kept the beers, micheladas and drinks flowing. We Bachelor party allotted about $1500 USD for the meal and with tip it came out perfect. Eveyrone got at least one lobster (all of us upgrade to Medium on our combos) and most went with the combo of crabs (stone claw), octopus, shrimp. One guy got a carne asada burrito (come on Ronnie).
Tortillas were perfect, rice was a little scant, they had a salad which was weird. The chips were nothing amazing, the salsas were ok, beans were good, but the flour tortillas were superb. Lobsters were great, tender, juicy. The shrimp were good, the octopus was great, the crab claws took some work since they are stone claws, but super sustainable. The oysters were a little bland and the clams were only ok (I was hoping to find some of those clams we canāt find in the states like blood clams) We could have used a 2nd server as 1 person simply could not service a group that large, well, but we thanked him for trying and were very generous on our tip. Prices arenāt super cheap or expensive.
Iām not sure where or when it became a bit of a tradition that bachelor parties have some big meal, be it expensive, fancy or otherwise, but truly just for the entire group to break bread. As with many parties, not everyone wants to do all the activities, except eat.
We feasted for a while, walked around, got some churros, some ice cream, shopped and called our buses for pick up. A great afternoon in PN, highlighted by...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOk so coming into Puerto Nuevo wasn't sure where to eat so we checked online reviews and decided to try this place. There are three levels and we sat on the top to get an ocean view. Although the restaurant was not beach front, the terrace view during sunset of the coastline was more than adequate. Sergio was our waiter and immediately took care of us. This was on top of the full house downstairs. We ordered the large lobster for 2 and a shrimp soup. While waiting for the food we ordered 2 lemon Margaritas with Don Julio Blanco and a Michelada. Delicious!!! Food arrived and let me tell you the they didn't bring just 2 large tails for the 2 of us, instead it was more like 4 or 5 tails and the rest of the lobster with a cup of butter, beans and rice. Then Sergio brought out 2 more lobsters and said āon the houseā. Are you kidding me?!? This would never happen in the US. Now on to the flour tortillas .. omg amazingly hot, soft, fresh, like a bite of pure soft flour. From beginning to end, the food and service was 5 star. Every staff person was super nice and was genuinely happy to see their guests eat well. Everything was super fresh from the lobster to the tortilla. And though they didnāt have espresso, the coffee with cinnamon went very well with the homemade flan. We will definitely be back. I donāt think I. An go...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would give 10 stars if I could! Starting from the attentive service to the DELICIOUS perfectly cooked food, our party of 6 had the most excellent dinner at Las Brisas.
Mario our server took such great care of us, bringing us super yummy halibut soup as a starter on the house, and even adding a 3rd lobster to our order as a service!
The whole fried fish was a real highlight - flaky, perfectly seasoned, crunchy, and easy to eat! We got both grilled and fried lobster, both of which were delish! Even the rice and beans were flavorful and perfect accompaniments to the seafood.
The inside of the restaurant is super clean and modern, well maintained and good vibes :)
The prices were excellent for the quality and quantity! Highly recommend for anyone looking to get great seafood in...
