TACOS EL GORDO — Restaurant in Baja California

For all you know; I am indeed a fatman, I am a taco connoisseur, I am a Mexican boi, and I do not approve these tacos.

Tacos are meant to be an experience, they are meant to be the one magical moment of the day. Even though this place does have above-okay tacos, tacos alone cannot save this place.

When you enter, nobody gives two flying ducks about it. You are alone in the universe and it's up to you to figure out where you're supposed to order, whether you can sit or not, whether they take cash only, etc. Now that I think of it, I wasn't even given a "Buenas tardes".

Then, after ordering, they give you two plastic bags, one containing radishes and the other containing lemons ... in a plastic bag? How cheap of them!!! And their prices are on the higher side of things, for that amount of money, I don't get a container for my lemons? Or an actual plate for my tacos? Why did I get my three tacos on a disposable paper mini-sized dish?

Their problem is just attitude, there's so much they gotta fix.

I was having a real bad day, I hadn't eaten and it was already 1800hrs.

Had I known better, I would've kept walking.

Lastly, I was so disappointed, I didn't take photos. I apologize...

Came in to kill some time before a picking up a flight arrival at the airport nearby. Ordered 4 asada, 2 tripe tacos a coke and horchata between my brother and I it was $20 even. Considering the location and the open late felt a little more than what I’m used to spending, but the food was good. The service was mediocre, but good considering they’re open “all night” I’m sure the crew was tired and not in the friendliest of moods. It seems They heat up everything with pig fat and well pig, pork, swine is not part of my diet, Especially the lard! The ambience is better than a lot of tacos places in Tijuana so you’ll feel pretty much at home if you’re visiting...

All of my experiences in this place have been amazing!, ive went there since im a kid, a baby even, and the food is always the greatest ever. My personal favorite will forever be the Adobada Tacos, they are so yummy, a bit small but it doesnt take the deliciousness from the dish. Also the Horchata Water. The horchata water is very yummy as well, and refills are free! Normally its full of people, at least the times we go, thats why we normally go at night. In summary, this place is great, i could never prefer another taco place than Tacos el Gordo, never fail...
