We came here as there is not many restaurants in cancun open at 12am and seeing the high rating we decided to give it a go
Upon arrival the place did not look bad, it was empty but that was understandable as it was late. The waitress was friendly and we sat down but realised the table was weird and wobbly so we moved. The tables are metal garden tables with holes in it, only covered by a thin tablecloth so it was very uncomfortable leaning your elbows into it. The young man taking our order was friendly and drinks arrived quickly. The berry lemonade (the only thing i managed to finish) was fresh and tasty and it gave high hopes but from then it all went downhill. I then saw the waiter bring over a monstrosity which turned out to be my “margherita” pizza. The “pizza” was literally a tomato field with undercooked cheese. There must have been at least 2 whole tomatoes on the pizza which just made the already undercooked, white greasy cheese even more soggy than it already was. The “pesto?” Or green sauce on top was extremely garlicy and it seemed to just be the same green garlic sauce they served in a little bowl. The crust of the pizza just made it even worse, crumbly and weird, nothing like a pizza it seemed like a quiche base. By far the worst pizza i have tasted, no flavor whatsoever besides the garlic kick and greasy fat heart stopping cheese. For the price point it was ridiculous, it is comparable to the “dr oetker” frozen pizzas from a supermarket which taste much better! Onto the 2nd dish, the chicken pasta. Supposedly a “creamy parmesan chicken pasta” it came out looking like a soup. The thin spaghetti was literally drowning in a sickly grey sauce, and again, an unbearable smell and taste of garlic. The chicken looked microwaved, it was literally a soggy boiled chicken breast dropped on top of the concoction. It was soft and flavorless. We could not eat more than a few spoonfuls before we felt sick from the texture and flavour. This was only the second time in my life i could not finish a meal at a restaurant in my life. $600 in the bin would have been better off going anywhere else open...
Read moreAvoid! Despite its 4.4 rating on maps, this place is a major disappointment. I ordered a margherita pizza which failed on every basic level - no tomato sauce (just sliced tomatoes), tasteless cheese, and a crust with the wrong texture (more like a quiche). While they do offer a variety of additional sauces (the chili one was admittedly good and spicy), needing condiments to rescue a pizza is a major red flag. A proper margherita should stand on its own merits. Absolutely one of the worst pizzas I've had for the price point - you're better off buying one from the grocery store.
The atmosphere is a mixed bag. While they've made an effort with nice tablecloths and decor in their outdoor seating area, the location on the boulevard is problematic. You're constantly dealing with traffic noise, visible cars passing by, and exhaust fumes that significantly impact the dining experience. If you do decide to visit (which I don't recommend), definitely request indoor seating.
The only saving grace is the service, which is adequately professional and attentive. However, good service and a selection of sauce options can't make up for fundamentally poor pizza and an uncomfortable outdoor dining experience. With so many other dining options in Cancún, save your money and look...
