We visited for the first time last night a group of 4 friends celebrating a birthday.
Conveniently located close to hotels so walking distance from a few. A great location overlooking the lagoon, with a beautiful view at sunset.
We loved the theme and the server kicked off with a trivia quiz all of course related to the movie. There is plenty of memorabilia around the entire venue to keep your eyes busy, lots to see and enjoy. With the film playing on a number of screens around the restaurant and bar.
There’s a decent selection of food options, something for everyone.
The staff were so warm and welcoming with enthusiasm for the venue and themed restaurant, menu and drinks choices. They were swift to serve you at any point too.
As we had a birthday within the group the staff arrived to our table with a chair… they proceeded to sing happy birthday and I’m conga fashion parade behind the chair and birthday person wheeled through the restaurant, what fun! Certainly made the celebrations memorable and a nice chocolate cake served too. Huge thank you for leaving us with a superb memory!
We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal and for 4 with a few rounds of drinks was a very reasonable price, came in under £150 GBP, including taxes and tips, a birthday discount already automatically applied which was a lovely surprise.
Overall something for all ages and great fun, thank you team...
Read moreHow this place gets above a 3.0 is beyond me. Let me save you the time: the sunset is the only decent thing this place offers. If t It was a cloudy sunset, even that beats anything the restaurant offers. That and shelter in case of a hurricane... I can't fully couch for the people who would actually think their food is decent ro serve. Fish and chips for the kids meals: the only thing that would keep it at 3.5 stars despite no "chips" but that's me being biased against this place lol. Now to the worst: barely ANY clams in the clam chowder AND the potatoes were so undercooked the edges could have cut someone... maybe. I had to send it back for being lukewarm and undercooked. I complain little about things but it was bar none the worst clam chowder I've had. After they added 30 seconds on the microwave, I tried it again and maybe up to 5 degrees warmer, I'm pretty sure anybody not in the Arctic would have said that it was lukewarm still. On to my wife's dish. I cant remember it even though i know i split it with her so I'll ask her before I continue.
Okay, I'm resuming. Jeez I wrote a lot. My wife had an almost unmemorable overcooked (microwaved?) fish with shrimp (just barely palatable) and mashed potatoes. That's it I'm over this place. There are PLENTY of places better especially just as you get on the mainland. I'll...
Read moreBubba Gump Review – Laguna Location Bubba Gump is a chain restaurant, and this location doesn’t stray far from the formula. The main difference is its prime location—there’s plenty of parking, and the restaurant backs right into the Laguna, which gives it a nice scenic backdrop. It had the potential for a relaxed dining experience, but unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended.
When I arrived, I was the only customer there, and oddly enough, they still weren’t ready to open on time. You’d expect faster service with no crowd, but that wasn’t the case. I ordered shrimp, which you’d think would be their specialty. Instead, they came out overcooked and rubbery. At that point, I was starving, so I powered through it, but it wasn’t enjoyable.
The outdoor seating looks inviting at first—right on the water, with a breeze and a view—but don’t expect to sip a beer slowly. The sun hits hard, and your drink will warm up quickly. Unless you’re drinking fast or don’t mind a warm beer, it’s not the most comfortable spot to sit and relax.
Overall, the location has promise, but the execution misses the mark. With better food and service, it could be a go-to spot. As it stands, I wouldn’t recommend it—especially if you’re coming for the shrimp or hoping to enjoy a slow...
