I've eaten here 5-6 times in the past 2 weeks. I kept coming back because it was good, and I liked being able to get a little chicken with a lot of vegetables - I ordered Tepenake con Pollo every time. The bed of vegetables under the bits of stir fried chicken was almost entirely bean sprouts, disappointing, but tasty. Except the 4th time I ate there, the plate came with a very even mix of all sorts of vegetables, with probably an equal amount of each - there were more non-beansprout vegetables in this one plate than in all the other visits combined. And there was a lot more chicken. I asked the waiter what was up, and learned one cook gives satisfying, generous portions of everything (the waiter's words "like it should be"), and the other just puts a tiny bit of each. The last time I went, the food was incredibly bad and the service much slower than usual. I'd explained to the waitress (in Spanish) what previous waiter had said about the different cooks, and added that I wanted the generous cook to make my dinner. The waitress informed me that the dish was always the same, no matter who cooked it (obviously not correct). Yet I asked her anyways to please make sure the generous chef cooked my dish. When my food finally came, it actually looked very old and wilted - not overcooked, but like it'd been sitting around a long time, maybe even all day long in a non-refrigerated state. I'm not sure why I didn't refuse it and leave, but instead, I ate it. Some of the chicken was obviously undercooked. Some of the vegetables tasted so bad (rotten flavor) that I spit them out into my napkin. As the waitress came to collect my plate, she asked me how everything was and I told her (in Spanish) that the food had been pretty bad. She didn't comment, but just took my plate and came back with the check. I experienced symptoms from this food for 2 days afterwards, and will not likely visit this...
Read moreI don't think the waiting staff here knows anything about sushi. I asked for strawberry lemonade and the waiter said yes, we specifically asked if they had strawberry specifically, and still yes yes. Lol no strawberry lemonade. I ask for no rice, he repeats after me no rice, says ok no rice. Lol, but of course bowl full of rice. All the guy cared about was what's on TV, it's funny but not funny at the same time. Out of all the spots in Cancun I've been in, I think hands down the worst service we had. The manager came saved the day but...
Read moreWhile we appreciate the effort of the staff, we found our recent dining experience to be less satisfying than expected. Unfortunately, some of us experienced stomach discomfort after our meal. It would have been helpful if the wasabi and ginger had been brought to our table with the food, rather than needing to request them afterward. We have noticed a decline in the quality of the sushi at Sushiito compared to our earlier visits, and we would love to see it return to the high standards we...
