Place de Paris — Restaurant in Cancún

I decided to eat here after I saw the reviews and also noticed they serve steak.

if you are used to economical prices for typical Mexican food, this is not the place for you. The price is high (main steak courses are around 365-390) compared to Mexican restaurants you see scattered around town, but the service is really good.

I had 2 excellent lemonades and the ribeye steak. As usual in Mexico (I think), the steaks are already flavoured with pepper, salt and garlic; something you might want to ask to not do that if you are used to eating it without seasoning. The steak is relatively thin, but it is prepared well. It comes with fries and a taste salad on the side.

I find the service and kindness of the waiter very good and I felt welcome. They attended to my wishes and the lady asked me multiple times whether everything was good.

What I like most about the service, is that they don't suggest the percentage of tips and i was also asked if I wanted to have the change; something I am not used to from touristic places (PdC, Tulum) where you actually have to beg to get your change back.

I cannot really understand the hype We went there for a nice meal on Christmas Eve and I was really not happy with the food After 20 min we got 4 slices of baguette topped with some pesto and the cook coming over telling us how delicious all the food and the pesto he cooks is. Was a bit too much let the people praise your food not the other way around We ordered 3 lemonades The salmon, the rib eye steak and the pasta bolognese The lemonade came after 40 min of waiting but it did not taste bad The salmon was very overcooked it was extremely dry I definetly needed the lemonade to be able to swallow it The salad with it was fresh The rib eye steak was a poor cut way too thin Under the steak tons of sweet balsamic vinegar on top pesto and steak salt which were very salty Dear Chef: good meat does not need a sauce to be eaten with. One of the best dining experiences we have ever had I cant explain that words will not be able to do justice to it for sure. First of all this restaurant is so cute and real home feeling and the tables facing outside and inside. I was inside and I enjoyed my comfort. I have never tasted anything so delicious as the food here and it was one of the best dinners I have ever had. The cocktail peppermint Lemonada that I ordered was so good that we reordered 2 more times . The steak and fries that I ordered was the highlight of my dinner . My Friends loved the fish that they ordered, just perfect temperature and their crepe dessert was phenomenal.
