Plaza Las Americas — Local services in Cancún

The largest shopping mall in Cancun, actually two shopping malls fused together an old one and a not very new. The food court has been relocated and brand new with air conditioning and a lot of variety of both chain and local restaurants, a major improvement over the old nasty one. Big anchor department stores like Liverpool. Furniture stores. Cinepolis movie theaters and a nice Gym are located here as well as a Chedraui which is a large chain supermarket. Lots of restaurants on the outside perimeter as well as bank branches and phone companies. It's always busy, noisy, crowded and has the worst parking lot I ever seen in my whole life, literally a maze, awful design if at all, dark, dirty, flooded on rainy days, badly signed, etc etc. The mall is well located on the nice part of the city, close to other smaller shopping centers, restaurants and bars. This mall is great, it has a variety of stores (clothes, shoes, electronics, fast-food, movie theatre, supermarket, pharmacies). I just wish people followed the global "walk-on-your-right" rule - people here zig zag and spread out constantly bumping into each other.

Food court is great, but you must be very specific to what your likes / dislikes are and double check your orders. My kid is very picky and no matter how specific I was with the restaurants, they always got the order wrong (adding onions, jalapeños, carrots, or some other vegetable to the food).

Cinepolis' VIP room was incredible! Wish every movie theatre was like this. Great selection of films and clean /...

This is the largest shopping mall in Cancun and you could spend all day here without trying. Besides stores like, Sears, H&M, Radio Shack, Krispy Kreme, Old Navy, you can find Liverpool, which is a very large Mexican department store. The food court has all the fast food you could want (McDonalds, Burger King, Johnny Rockets, Olive Garden, Starbucks, Chili’s, Hooters and more—but why when you can get authentic Mexican food?)
