The Back Door — Restaurant in Cancún

Super exciting to have a LGBTQ club in the hotel zone in the heart of the entertainment district. Beautiful space, lighting, dancers and people. They also do it up properly with sparklers for bottle service for table reservations if you’re celebrating something on your holiday! On the night we went, there was an international DJ and at least half a dozen dancers. You definitely get good entertainment value with your cover of around $25USD or 200 pesos if you’re local. In terms of drink prices, Victoria, our preferred local beer, cost us 110 pesos or about $6USD. Not only did our super cute server come by often to check on us, but so did the club manager Juan and one of the owners as well! As a local resident I ought to clarify that this not the "only gay bar in Cancun". There are two others in downtown. However it is the latest and the only one owned by a woman. Prices seem to be exorbitant compared to the US, which makes it unaffordable for locals. Note that most of the good reviews are by women, not men.

According to the owner's reply, it's not a gay bar but a "queer" bar.

Maybe she doesn't know Coco Bongo, located a few metres from her bar, has been catering for and employing queer people since it opened a long time ago and with way better shows without having to resort to employing American acts.

The two other downtown gay bars also have local drag shows and as I have been told by visitors is packed with local people over...

I'm not sure how anyone can leave a bad review of this place 😍 in Cancun with boyfriend and decided to check it out. We got an all inclusive band there for about £35 and were served drinks non stop! The show and gogo boys were spectacular!!! The main Drag queen host was even better! Really made the vibe and ensured everyone was entertained! Best night we have had in Cancun and as a member of the Queer community it made me happy to see such a busy queer venue thriving in Mexico. I'd recommend to everyone and anyone!
