Barrigas Misiones — Restaurant in Chihuahua

We thoroughly enjoyed the food and ambience here - until on my last mouthful of appetizer my husband pointed out the HUGE cockroach walking on the counter in front of our plates....hence me not eating any dessert. I thought i had chosen an ok spot to enjoy dinner and drinks but Mr. ROACH was insistent on being our guests I was disgusted. I should have recorded the incident instead of running to puke to the restroom. After reporting the problem to staff and management I assumed the least they can do is take care of us as customers but I was wrong. I'm by far looking for a freebie but common it's more than clear they have an infestation issue. The food was tasty and the service was okay. The prices were reasonable. The restaurant itself was in decent shape but could stand some upkeep. Twice though the waiters insisted on a bigger tip. Uh really, since when is 20% not enough? The second time it happened I told the guy that I decided the tip amount and because of his greed, I would only be leaving him the 5% I put on my card and the cash was going back in my wallet. To the poster who said they refill their bottles with tap, why oh why would you drink an unsealed bottle of water? Rule 101 in Mexico, don't drink from the tap & never drink from an unsealed bottle. Also to the reviewer that mentioned the roach, again, this is Mexico. No matter where you are, there are going to be roaches. Just because you spotted 1, doesn't mean there is an infestation! Came here on a Thursday with the family as we came in from our flight, the food is ok, the rice literally taste like it’s from a bag heated up, the mariachis was there and it was a nice show, the inside decor was beautiful, the service does take a minute for the waiters to come and take your order , they will try and make you get the chicarrón for a cost, but the chips are just fine, it is close to the hotel holiday inn if your staying there but to say real authentic Mexican food Heck no it’s not!!
