Casa Rolandi — Restaurant in Isla Mujeres

I was looking for a place that was a short walking distance from my Airbnb to have a meal since I hadn't eaten all day due to traveling. I arrived sweating and was pleased that they let me dine there because I was not a guest of the Zoetry hotel. The hotel and restaurant are beautiful. Perfect for watching the sunset over a nice Italian meal. They even brought out a fan. I don't think they brought it out specifically for me but I'm sure they noticed I could definitely use it, which was a nice touch. The windows were open so feeling the breeze from the ocean feels really nice. I ordered the burrada, calamari and the alfredo pasta which came with bread. You have the choice of white or wheat. The white bread is warm and soft and is topped with a garlic butter. Very big portions! The calamari wasn't as flavorful (seasoned) like how I'm used to at Italian restaurants in the US, but still tasty. I would've preferred less rings and more tentacles (there was only one). The burrata included yummy figs, sundried tomatoes, arugula, and prosciutto which paired well with the bread. The pasta was hand made which is my favorite, but some of the noodles on top of the dish were a little more al dente to my liking. I'm giving 4 stars because I ordered a glass of white wine, about $230-$250 MXN pesos, but I was charged $300. When I showed the server, she left to confirm the price and came back to tell me the menu was incorrect. I asked her if they would honor the menu price and they would not but she wouldn't give me a reason why. Not sure if I was being taken advantage of by being a tourist, but if not they need to...

My fiancé and I walked up to Casa Rolandi for a Valentine’s Day dinner during the week we stayed on the island. This restaurant is located with the all inclusive resort, but non guests can eat at the restaurant. This place has a deck for dining with amazing views.

It was fun to enter though the lobby and see the beautiful landscaping around the hotels pool and beach. I believe online it says the dress code is elevated causal, but does not seem to be enforced. There was live music, a talented lounge singer. Very nice and not too loud for dining.

The menu is definitely Italian inspired, many pasta dishes, fish, and beef & lamb dishes that are cooked in the brick oven. Service was well done, our waiter Jorge was very kind...

We stayed at Zoëtry Villa Rolandi for 5 days and pretty well worked through the menu. The food and service are both good, no doubt. At times the staff can leave you hanging for water or drinks but are nice and caring people. For Cancun, the food isn't what one would expect; not Mexican enough.
