This is a hole in the wall restaurant. Limited menu but they don't need much. They sell enchiladas, sopes, gorditas and tacos. Today the drink was hibiscus water and bottle Pepsi. If you wanted something else you could get it at the store in the corner. They don't care if you bring it in with you.
The service was fast and unfriendly but I was not there for a meaningful conversation. The food was tasty and it went down easy. I ordered a large water which is more like a liter. Very flavorful and as I write this I am still drinking it.
This restaurant surprised me. I will definitely come back again to sample more of the plates. And to look outside at the park and the moving traffic in front of the restaurant. I highly recommend this restaurant for a nice meal. If you are in the area, give it a try. You won't be...
Read moreMy husband and I went out for a Sunday morning walk to grab coffee and run some errands. Along the way, we decided to look for a classic Sunday staple—menudo. Living in Colonia Las Aralias, we wanted something close by that could satisfy the craving. A quick search led us to La Lotería, a buffet-style family restaurant just a 15-minute walk away.
We were pleasantly surprised! The restaurant had a warm, family-oriented atmosphere with live music, aguas frescas, fresh tortillas, café de olla, and yes—MENUDO. Even better, they offered both menudo blanco and menudo rojo. Beyond that, the buffet included chicken tinga, chilaquiles, birria, beans, pancakes, and about 14 different fresh dishes in total.
The vibe is inviting, the service is excellent, and while they don’t serve alcohol, they’re happy for you to bring your own beer. For newcomers to Puerto Vallarta, it’s a perfect place to enjoy authentic flavors in a lively setting.
side note buffet is only weekend morning!
We’re still exploring all the food options in the city, but La Lotería has already earned a spot in our personal Top 10 restaurants in PV. Highly recommended!
Read moreIt has an old fashion heart warming Mexican feeltm to it. Reminds me of them old days before smartphones, when if it was raining, the family would just stay inside the house as play the game "loteria,", then mom would tell us that the food is ready and we'd all go eat dinner together as a family, mom or course would cook something bit more special than usual, a typical Mexican meal. Pozole, Mole Poblabe, Enchiladas..... Whatever it was, is was always a typical Mexican meal, and always tasty. Well same thing here, a...
