Lupes BBQ — Restaurant in Jalisco

I decided to dine here since they had a solid 4.7 google review.

Ordered the smallest pork rib clearly listed at $249 MXN on the menu (see photo). One waiter deliberately tried to charge me 600+ MXN, insisting I ordered the bigger portion — even after I pointed at the menu. Another staff member didn’t help either.

Totally no apology from the two scammers. A male and a female servers.

Thankfully, an English-speaking employee stepped in and resolved it by offering a discount, though the experience left a bad taste. Food was okay, but be very careful: confirm prices and check your bill, as some staff may try to overcharge tourists.

To be honest if he gave me what I ordered, I would have tipped him. But instead, he gave me a bigger portion which I couldn't finish the food and wasted the food. And of coz no tips for...

Ya me había decidido a no volver a comer en Lupes porque la última vez en la sucursal de Av Tepeyac el terminado de las costillas, sabor y textura estuvo pésimo. Esta vez regresamos por petición de alguien especial y decidimos ir a la suc de Punto San Paulo. Pedimos el XXL para varias personas. El sabor de las costillas, con exceso de pimienta (el viejo truco de disfrazar con especias), y no se aprovechaba el sabor natural de las costillas. De textura y suavidad bien. Por otro lado las dichosas papas Lupes con tocino, la porción fue minúscula y el tocino bastante poco y medio quemado. Los elotes en su punto (sería demasiado que a ni los elotes le atinaran) servicio del 'primer' mesero bastante mediocre y de mala actitud, después nos cambiaron de mesa porque parecía que iba a llover, pedimos unos platillos siguientes, 1 orden de papas fritas y unos boneless. 35 mins después y no llegaban, le preguntamos a la 'siguiente' mesera (porque al primero lo mandaron a secar platos) nos comentó que no se había metido la orden. Trajeron las papas fritas 10 minutos después, sin noticias de los dichosos boneless. Los trajeron, con salsa equivocada, se habían pedido naturales y los trajeron con salsa búfalo. En resumen, mediocre servicio, mediocre comida, pésima atención. 2 estrellas simplemente porque hubo de cortesía los boneless equivocados. Hay bastantes opciones de costillas en muchos lados de la ciudad, Lupes fue referente hace tiempo, que lástima que a que se hayan dormido en...

We went to this restaurant at 7pm without booking and we were told that there were 17 tables before us and we had to wait 2 hours. We agreed and came back 2 hours later and wth our astonishment they told us that there were 54 tables before us and 1,5 hour waiting time!! We complaint since it did not make any sense. Total mess, unprofessional and false. Very bad management. Never again!! They do lot know how to treat clients and they have no respect...
