Best Ramen place in Guadalajara!! And actually one of my favorite restaurants in the city. If it's your first time trying out Ramen, and you like spicy food, go for the Tantanmen, but also they have other non-spicy options which also are very delicious. They also have different types of Vegan Ramen, which also are very delicious. Actually I've been trying vegan ramen at different spots but definitely Peko Peko is by far the best option for vegan ramen, my favorites are the vegan version of Tantanmen and the Miso one. Also they have japanese sodas which are extremely delicious, my favorites are Lychee and Green Cantaloupe. Moreover they have plenty of sake options, from coktails to straight sake. There's a section on the menu that has non-filtered Sake, which are a bit more expensive than the most commercial ones, but really worth it. Also the sauteed Edamames are very delicious and the traditional gyozas are simply outstanding. Another dish worth to try is the vegan Karaage (which is basically breaded tofu which comes with a salad on the side). Additionally, the Oolong tea (hot) is very good and have heard it's super healthy. If you plan to go, have in mind that you'll wait around 30 min, because it gets really crowded, specially at night, but definitely the wait is worth. The service is also very good. Finally, don't forget to ask for the chilli-oil sauce, it gets the ramen flavor into...

Overrated and mediocre ramen with average service. I arrived and was seated right away, which I considered lucky since customers who came after me had to wait a while. I was given a menu, and after some confusion, I received an explanation of the different ramen options. I ordered the tantan men, one of their vegan ramen choices.

The ramen was a bit spicy but otherwise unimpressive. The “ground meat” in the dish wasn’t very appealing in taste or appearance, with a texture that felt like dog food. The noodles were plentiful but felt more like spaghetti than authentic ramen. The service declined toward the end, as it took forever to get the bill and pay, which detracted from the experience.

Overall, the ramen left much to be desired, and it was just a...

DOES YOUR STOMACH GROWL? If it does, what sound does it make? The Japanese imagine it to be saying PEKO PEKO. So this eatery’s name is based on an onomatopoeia that indicates great hunger. And if you are hungry, you’ll find plenty to satisfy your appetite at PEKO PEKO. We tried the Suratanmen caldo marudori. The noodle soup was chock full of shrimp and pieces of bacon. TIP: Since the bowls are on the pricey side, ask to split it for now charge. As sides, we ordered sautéed edamame, which was smothered in a savory udon sauce. We also tried a gua bao bun and a pan al vapor filled with pork. We added some sweet spice sauce and dipped our buns in it. Overall, PEKO PEKO provides nice oriental cuisine at a fair price.
